I think the thing that drives me the most nuts is that this particular election is the most bizarre, see-through, over-the-top, lie filled dumpster fire in human history. Not only that, but half of our government is trying to keep a straight face while sitting there just lying and trying to get everyone to think that it is just normal politics. The media is just going along trying to present it as if we, the people are the crazy ones and this is all just business as usual.
This isn't fixable.
@Xponent_Rob @BlueStateBabe Yeah, I live a couple hours south of Portland, and we had our own protests and a couple of kids threw rocks at a T-Mobile. Honestly, nothing new. Luckily for us, we didn't get the Fox news treatment. I suspect that a lot of these myths come from Fox news and right wing politicians. They spent the last decade hyping some fictional vision of places people infrequently go.
The liberals "took over" Oregon a hell of a long time ago. Makes it a nice place to live.
@BlueStateBabe I am always taken aback by the "Portland" argument. Most people that make this argument have never seen, let alone spent any time in Portland. They just use it as some mythical liberal dystopia. I spend time in Portland now and again. It is often very busy, has lots of people, but the "worst" thing about it is a toss-up between long lines and finding parking. It has just as many problems as any other city and never lives up to the myths.
@TwiHusband @ToolPackinMama My unpopular opinion is that nobody who preaches it has ever actually believed in any of it. It has always been used as a mechanism to control. The only purpose has been to get people to agree to be ruled by someone without resisting. The entire religion is about accepting one's place in the scheme of things, and being ruled over. The money thing has always been part of it as well. This omnipotent super-being needs money, of course.

This band stuns me over and over.
@singlemaltgirl @elbutterfield I personally love communism (proper theoretic communism).
@redenigma Oh, I am waxing poetic about my love for socialism.
@elbutterfield I think that if we all earned the same amount, we would do what we loved, rather than what made us the most money. I think we manufacture scarcity to make sure that some have more than others. I think we, as a society need that to motivate us. I don't agree with it, as I find myself more on the line of let's make everything equal for everyone. I just acknowledge the reality of what we are.
@elbutterfield I completely agree with you. I, too, would be happy if we were all the same.
@Zevon I do not disagree with you at all.
If everyone made exactly the same salary, nobody would want to work. What motivates us is the ability to compare ourselves to others. Our limitless greed demands that we have some who dominate over others. Unless someone can have more than everyone else, there is no motivation to perform. Even if it made everyone's lives better, a large portion of us would demand that it is unfair for everyone to be treated as equals. We demand unfair, over and over.
@GreenCheese I wish so much that we lived in a society that had laws for all instead of just laws for the poor. It drives me nuts that being rich allows you to do anything regardless of the law.
@sjvn You can say "censor" and "voting" on CoSo. It won't be censored. There is no algorithm here.
@LauraWalkerKC still counts
Not the biggest fan of Meidas, but this article is worth a read. I have been seeing a lot of people worried by some bogus betting odds pretending to be polls.
Polls don't vote. Betting markets aren't polls.
