@nonayadambidnes @LnzyHou In the city I live in, the shelter is a religious organization. In order to be sheltered, people have to adopt the religion, be segregated into male and female sides, and be denied access to their loved ones. They must be behind locked gates by 6pm every day or be denied access to the shelter. They must attend religious services to be eligible for the shelter. This is not an outlier. This is common in many cities. I wonder why people don't feel safe in them...

I love how job sites, career counselors, etc constantly tell you to put your phone number in your resume. When you do, suddenly you start getting inundated with spam / scam calls. In the modern tech job market, half of the listed jobs are just farming resumes to scrape and sell to companies. As soon as you hit the job market, the spam starts rolling in. It gets to where you don't answer your phone because you already know it is a gift card scam, or similar. So, it works against your job hunt.

“Use your aggressive feelings boy, let the hate flow through you”

-Palpatine, Star Wars

I just had a phone intake interview with a LLM. Honestly, that was unnerving and a terrible experience. I am highly unlikely to work with that recruiting agency just because they made me talk to a LLM to record my answers. It was awkward, and difficult. I think LLMs are great toys and all, but replacing humans with them seems a bit hasty and out of touch to me.

@singlemaltgirl That Gee Five dude. That guy drives me nuts sometimes.

@SaltyVeruca I have this sneaking suspicion that "the cult" will be used by cult members as some sort of excuse in an attempt to avoid accountability in the future. "I was lured into the cult, I can't be held responsible for my actions..."

@AskTheDevil Nobody pays me for my shit opinions. I provide them as a service, for free.

Portraying this election as a dead heat promotes panic clicks. It sells more advertising space and brings in more revenue. It generates traffic for influencers, which in turn sells more advertising space and brings in more revenue. It sells more books, more revenue. Understanding that panic and rage sell helps a lot to deal with all of the misinformation thrown in your face every second of every day.

Always ask yourself who profits from this.

@Kinnison Honestly, the UI and Inventory system on Planet Crafter leave a lot to be desired as well. It is one of those games where you kind of put up with it because the idea is so cool.

Subnautica is still the coolest sci-fi game I have played for the story. Breathedge was also quite funny, and kept my interest for a while. Both games are one-and-done, though. Once you finish them, they are done. Little to no replay value.

We should rename our "Supreme Court" to "Council of Guardians" as the Iranian structure in the Council of Guardians most closely resembles our false court. The Iranian Council of Guardians interpret the constitution and determine if laws passed by parliament are in line with Sharia law. This is identical in function to our own Council of Guardians.

@EvilBunny The holy clerics have determined that their religion trumps your rights. They get to define what their religious beliefs are, and they get to impose them on you. This is why they cannot be held accountable for their actions. They are above all laws, having been ordained by their deity as being above all others. Divine rulers, and all...

@Kinnison I fell back in love with No Man''s Sky. After so many years of being a disappointment, it has finally started to become the game they promised when it released. Also, if you haven't tried it, Planet Crafter is a great game.

@darcrich It kind of amazes me that his holy highness is somehow shocked that his blatant partisan dipshittery had an adverse public reaction. It shows that god's chosen judges are definitely part of ruling class and us peons cannot be trusted to have an opinion of their divine right to rule.

For the last time, "Idiocracy" was supposed to be a satire, not an instruction manual.

I saw a Cybertruck today with a custom license plate that decoded to "Haters Hate", and the irony nearly killed me.

@ShaneArtBooks Good call. I hope that you have a super wonderful day. :)

@ShaneArtBooks Ok, obviously hit a nerve here. So, while we are going ahead and missing the humor entirely, just use the tools. You can block me, or mute me, or just laugh.
