@Vana I know nothing about violins, but out of curiosity, could you shim the pegs with little bits of wooden matchsticks? You could maybe slice off a sliver of a matchstick and put it along one of the sides of the hole and then press the peg in?

@CanisVeritum For years we have been inundated with Brian Tyler Cohen and MeidasTouch pushing out absolute "I need this 7 minutes to monetize" clickbait. For years we have seen at least once a day "this will end the campaign!". The videos are always the same rehashed crap of the day with some hyperbole thrown in for good measure. I honestly group all "influencers" together. They are all trying to monetize. They are all worthless to me, regardless of party.

@Kinnison @ExecutiveFunction404 Not only are we considering debating these things, but the people who are trying to present these as reasonable viewpoints are the people who proclaim moral superiority and divine authority to make the rest of us bend to their will. It is hard to call us civilized at this point. It is even harder to take their religion arguments seriously.

@Kinnison @ExecutiveFunction404 When you think about it, forcibly impregnating children has been a Republican mantra for a while now. The number of MAGA charged with sexual crimes against children has skyrocketed and we have sitting members of our senate credibly accused of sex trafficking children. It is depraved and monstrous. The worst part of it is that these arguments are being presented as good faith arguments and as valid positions to take.

After this election is over, remember all of the panic merchants. Don't forget what they did. Don't forget how they tried to foment panic for their own gain. Remember the news outlets, influencers, social media posters, pundits that tried to market off of fear and resentment. Don't go back to them. Don't let them escape accountability.

@SaltyVeruca My theory is that slowing metabolism is making it harder to process it now that I crossed over the 50 line. I think my body no longer wants to process it through and leaves me with residual goop. I started getting anxiety smoking weed as well. That is the one that makes no sense to me.

@SaltyVeruca Vodka has started to give me headaches. That was never a problem in my 20s and 30s.

@Museek Yeah, I drive mine to the ballot box every election for the same reason.

@Museek The only drawback I can see to living in a vote-by-mail state is we don't get those stickers. My wife complains about it every election. She wants her voting sticker!

After he loses this election, all of these accusations of dementia and cognitive decline are going to be used by him as a reason that he cannot stand trial for his actions.

Sometimes, I wonder how much of it is performative.

We need to work on education, especially around "Freedom of Speech".

Freedom of speech has never meant that everyone has to listen to me and take what I say as truth. It has never meant that I can say anything I want and you are not allowed to disagree, or have an opinion of your own.

Freedom of speech has always meant that the government cannot make laws restricting your freedom of speech. Government cannot mandate religion. You have a right to protest peacefully. That's it.
