I recently found this video which really is the seminal moment. April 15, 2010, Obama tours Launch Complex 40 with Elon. SpaceX had yet to launch a Falcon 9. Elon gave Obama a tour; the first rocket was on the pad. You can overhear much of the conversation. The tour ends with Obama pledging to support commercial space.

It was just posted in June, so it's a huge find.

ON this date in 1986 - MTV aired 22 hours of the Monkees' TV episodes in celebration of their 20th anniversary as a group.

Bun, P and I watched the entire day.

Bun Man especially liked the line were Peter hurt himself and the doc comes in and Micky Dolenz asks "Doc, will he ever be able to play the piano again?"

The doc reviews the extent of Peter's injuries and turns to Micky and says "Yes..."

And then Micky says "That's funny, he never could play the piano before..."
