@johnldeboer Yeah i was shocked at how much gusto he has and is not afraid of zingers at trump vance which is what we need I felt Biden was too polite and it really made me angry

Totally agree! And I hope Harris will have an AG with some spine!

@catlynne333 He does. And so does Walz, who comes off as an authentic person. And he’ll be Harris’s pit bull during the campaign, a preview that was glimpsed last night.

@catlynne333 Yeah, that could have hurt him, especially when the team wants to hit Trump for sexual misconduct.

@catlynne333 I didn’t know that about Shapiro. But I heard Walz had a DUI about twenty years ago, so there’s a wee bit of baggage. Though it didn’t hurt Dubya.

4. Reagan and H.W. Bush were exceptions having three administrations in a row. If Harris wins, that’ll be two for the Biden regime. A third would be unlikely. History tells us Republicans (or another party?) would win in 2028. So Shapiro as VP would be out of a job. Even if Harris pulls off the trifecta, Shapiro would then be looking at 2036 to run for President after losing in 2032. Meanwhile, he could be a senator and run in 2032 for president after the Dems lose in 2028 (or 2032).

For all those bummed that Shapiro wasn’t tapped for VP - and we don’t know what went on in Harris’s interview - consider these things:
1. Put aside he’s a Jew, invoking an anti-Semitic element, Israel is controversial now, and do we want him having to explain his stance regarding that?
2. He basically has the same resume as Harris. No diversity there.
3. He’s only 51 and sure to have higher political ambitions.
(continued)

This guy Walz is a gem. He’s the real deal. Trump and Vance must be scared bigly.

Before Joe Biden stepped down, I was more than worried about a Trump victory in November. Now, with Harris leading the ticket, and her excellent choice of Walz, I can now say the Dems will win! Yup, you’ve heard it from a card-carrying pessimist. (But, of course, we call ourselves realists.) Did you see their speeches tonight? One hell of a roll-out.

Yesterday Trump praised the Venezuelan dictator Maduro for lowering crime in Caracas. Whether that’s true or not, the reason, according to Trump, is that Maduro is sending his criminals to the U.S. WTF? So Maduro is great for contributing to our illegal immigrant problem?

Time-zone differences create an insurmountable problem for viewers, be it here in the U.S. or elsewhere. TV networks operate in prime time during the week, so events in Europe are already completed before Americans get to see taped versions. Weekends, and real-time broadcasts, are the best, of course.

@Patti1120 That was my feeling too. It’s a money-loser, but still, what is pride worth?

Steve Kornacki did a good job yesterday showing the value of a country’s hosting the Olympics regarding the increase of their usual medal tally. But one thing I’d like to know: Has any country actually made a profit from hosting them? Is the cost worth the prestige? Gotta admit, though, the venue in Paris this year, using world-famous landmarks as backdrops, was spectacular.

@danielbsmith If he doesn’t like “weird,” that’s the point, right? I don’t see why he takes such umbrage at the term, but whatever works!

@Lucky188 It IS interesting that the name-calling Trumpists are upset by the term. Who knew? Their lame response is what Trump likes to do - turn it back on them in his typical schoolyard fashion: “No, Harris is the weird one. With that weird laugh.” And, “I’m not a puppet, Hillary. You’re the puppet.”
