Something I forgot to mention in the post last night:

The BOOX e-ink tablet was super-handy for displaying instructions while I worked on the car, without having to worry about a screen timing out or getting smudges on the screen (I used the magnetically-attached stylus for scrolling).

Extracting a broken-off stud is so satisfying.

(Would have been nice to not break it in the first place, but successful extraction is fun.)

That might explain my steering column rattle: the rubber+plastic coupler that connects the electric power assist motor to the column is somewhat disintegrated.

Now to drop in a $7 replacement... And see if I can put this thing back together.

Today I learned about `cbonsai`, which grows a delightful little bonsai tree right in your terminal.

I spent some time playing with it, and updated my Nix-powered fish shell setup so a tree would auto-spawn when I open a new shell.

Then I decided the tree should also share a "fortune" message. I shit you not, this was the first test of that, and it could not have turned out better.
