@MrGoat What do you call an angry swash-buckling sailor?

A P-irate!

@AkomoCombine not many females could go toe to toe with Conan! For the record, Valeria would kick Red Sonja's ass!

@LindaWisner @LnzyHou @Bix oh yeah, nightmare. On top of it all, the cars waiting in line completely jam up the street, much more than In n Out Burger.

@LnzyHou @LindaWisner @Bix I'm proud to have never stepped foot inside a Chick-Fil-A, though we did have an exchange student in 2022-2023 who was fond of their sauce and despoiled my fridge!

@LnzyHou @LindaWisner @Bix same with Chick-Fil-A. I wish I could do without the convenience of Home Depot though. Perhaps I will try harder when I return from Spain.

@feloneouscat he's become just another hack. As we've discussed, we are in a for-profit *media* bubble and everyone wants their share.

@gemswinc @Netherbury also since Trump plans to do so on Jan 20 in order to be able to suspend Posse Comitatus!

@dauphin87 I currently live in Valencia, Spain and it is magnificent. The south of France is absolutely gorgeous as well.

@jordicusmaximus 100%. I was finishing college and it was pretty much all we heard in my senior year...Among the best albums ever created!

@dauphin87 with all the money I would ever need, I'd live everywhere!

@BLuOXide it literally depends on the circumstances. Since they're allowed on planes there's no reasonable expectation that they should catch on fire at any time. Now if they find something suspicious, you might be held liable.

@sheseala my very first programming language that I learned in 2 months from Tandy's excellent manuals for the TRS-80 COCO. It's interesting that his co-founder, Kemeny, was Hungarian. There were a ton of Hungarians involved in computing and engineering in general in the early days after WWII. My uncle was born in 1936 and became a chemical engineer who worked on the Apollo propulsion systems. He was also personal friends with Andy Grove.

@AnnetteTRemain @IrelandTorin efficiency normally needs to be judged in context. LEDs have less "wasted" light because they can be directed much more precisely, have longer term energy savings via better control systems, and reduced maintenance costs. For very large installations, the long term cost savings can be significant (smaller lamps, less frequent maint., 2x - 4x lifecycle). LPS's also have hazardous waste that requires proper disposal.

But the disruption you mentioned has a cost too.

@bfgreen @Alfred I have a subscription to ChatGPT (for learning newer technologies and frameworks) if anyone cares to randomly ask questions that can't easily be answered by Alfred. I too did a reverse image search because I first thought this was Maine. Google found it right away in a blog post and then I looked it up.

I forgot to mention that CoSo now has full representation in Valencia, Spain!😂

@esaeger we live in Spain right now and we might stay if things get much shittier past June...
