I think there is a fundamental disconnect here.

Trump is a narcissist. He quite literally does not care if it hurts other GOP politicians. Trump is not a politician in the same way he is not a businessman.

He is a conman whose only goal is make money and gain power. He doesn’t care about voters, constituents or anything else. He will not change his behavior to make others happy. He learned from his first term he was kept away from the fun toys (thanks main stream media).

My parents are in the 80’s and are as liberal as they always have been. Partner and I are as liberal as we were in our 20’s (I’m actually more socialist than I was—and I was pretty socialist then).

If you look at the breakdown, boomers and older vote ALMOST IDENTICALLY to Gen X (Pew).

We didn’t get Trump because of the “Olds”, who are 48% of the electorate, we for him because of the “Young’s.”

I get really REALLY frustrated that people can’t seem to recall what happened four years ago much less forty. I’m a reluctant historian—meaning I like history I just don’t like the bad shit I read about (and avoiding pain, I don’t).

But JFC this is lived history. Things weren’t better four years ago. Did people forget they didn’t have jobs under Trump? Do they seriously believe it was Biden who pushed for high prices?

Republicans are about lowering wages and cutting jobs.

People need to understand this: stocks go UP when companies lay people off. It makes rich people RICHER.

There is no logical or economic reason for companies to increase wages. A business wants LOWER wages at the bottom.

That means The Valley is NOT going to see wages increase.
