How My Boss Monitors Me While I Work From Home
As we shelter in place in the pandemic, more employers are using software to track our work — and us.
from the websites I visited to my GPS coordinates — were available for my boss to review

I frequently share gratitude for CoSo. But a key truth is I am particularly grateful for the well-informed and thoughtful people I have met.
I cannot imagine trying to navigate complex and dynamic events without the clarity and perspective of some folks I connected with or learned about here.
I appreciate their contributions and the wider context for understanding I have gained.
I am better at pausing, thinking, and choosing rather than reacting.
Thank you, @th3j35t3r and CoSo
I'm going into month 3 of working remotely....
this still feels odd, to think now instead of a simple ping over skype 4 business (domain just fully converted to teams) to see if you have a moment to come see them. Now it's a simple ping for hey you got time to talk....
the oddity feeling still hasn't worn off to be honest
In an emotional response to George Floyd's family, the Minneapolis police chief says in his mind, all four officers involved in the black man's killing bear the same responsibility https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/01/us/minneapolis-police-chief-floyd-response/index.html

Avast sent out their monthly email the first thing u see in the email is help find a cure for covid-19. (Avast has already thrown considerable resources into the fight in the form of collection / work servers)
This is the kind of thing I wanna see companies doing, getting involved using their influence to direct people where to go to help + throw resources that normal everyday people don't have access too.
I think we're going to have more competition :D

Found out a friend of 10+ years had been recording us during our DnD sessions for months......
He also never ever let us near any of his computers.
Our friend group has drawn the conclusion that he's probably been recording us for years.
The reason why he did it
"I want to be able to look back and relive the memories now that you're all so busy"
Like well bud have fun with the memories, you sure as shit won't be hearing my voice over voice chat again.
WTF is eBay up to?

When visiting the eBay.com site, a script will run that performs a local port scan of your computer to detect remote support and remote management applications.

So as an update to yesterday's coffee grind story, I got 3 (standard size) coffee cups of coffee out of the pot
This morning 3/4ths of a cup and then a mouthful of "liquid grinds"
Opened up and drained the decanter with enough coffee grinds in it to plug up the sink if it didn't have a strainer.
Legit scared to brew another batch of coffee with this bag of grinds 😂
nothing wakes you up faster then the coffee grinds escaping out of the coffee filter and clogging the "drain" and putting coffee all over the floor -_-
Do you suffer from RSI, or know anyone who does.
You probably had had some doctor, or other say, "Well just don't use your hands."
Which seems impossible in this tech centered world.
Here are two videos of people that actually do this.
The first is, can you imagine writing code in Perl, without touching a keyboard?

And second, doing anything on a computer without using your hands.

This person made a Windows 10 Hardening Script. Looks quite comprehensive.
