The camellia bushes around my house are going bananas now.

Also a zillion bees around them - which makes me feel great.

Yesterday marked the 1000th day of war in Ukraine. I made this cartoon to mark the 100th day, back in 2022. Another visual that I'd rather see lose its relevance.

Common emotional responses to global conflict

* Grief
* Depression and Sadness
* Fear and Anxiety
* Anger
* Guilt

All of these are completely normal, and there’s no limit to what other feelings can come up. You might experience emotions like jealousy, pride, embarrassment, hope, and more. Many people feel conflicting emotions at the same time.

The plan to gut and should terrify all Americans regardless of age. If you’re “young” and “healthy” and shrugging it off, please consider how you’d ever pay off your student debt, buy a home, start a business, put your kids through college, or save for retirement with your parents and in-laws dependent on YOU for their housing, medical care, and other expenses. A great nation doesn’t leave its elders to drown in destitution after a lifetime of hard work.

Fact - More beauty than ugliness in this world.

Working with P/T 2x a week, again, to strengthen back to avoid or at least postpone 4 level lumbar surgery. I’ve canceled the surgery 3x 🤭
Happy with the progress thus far!🤷🏻‍♀️

@cassandra17lina If you are overweight reducing that will help a lot. My orthopedic group, one of the best in the city, said that every pound of weight reduction equals 10 pounds pressure off of your knees.

At the suggestion of my orthopedic surgeon, I’m working to get myself in good muscular shape before my total knee replacement scheduled for February. My personal trainer at the fitness center told me today that these efforts will make a significant difference in my recovery. Both these guys have endured serious injuries and surgeries and long rehab, something that convinces me that they’re speaking from experience rather than theory.

I am not rich, I live on a fixed income, that is not going increase with inflation. I understand, creators need to get paid. And Ad-tech is killing the open web. Each time I cancel a subscription it saddens me.

I see no solution on the horizon. Is this even fixable?
So I ask; what do we do? Access to good information is going to get harder in the near future. How do we insure it continues?

If they won't release the report please get people pounding on all the stupid things Matt Gaetz has done that had full press. Talking selfies with his phone at the pizza party in the SCIF. The time he took off and had an iconic ships name repainted and fueled it when he and Ginger didn't own it. He's done lots of stupid.

Frank Lloyd Wright might be best known as one of most revered American architects of entire 20th century. But perhaps less well known is his brief foray into textile and wallpaper design during the 1950s. blog.fabrics-store.com/2024/11

Good morning, CoSo -

Things have indeed been pretty disheartening and we're all going through it. I wish I could make you laugh.

Perhaps envision me at the gym trying to master the Turkish Get-Up with all the grace and fluidity of an elephant seal flopping out of the water onto the beach.

Or behold my spirit animal below. Like her (him?), I'm just down here rolling my little ball of poo.

@cassandra17lina
How do I not know that place?
We thought it was awful when the interstate bypassed Schulenburg in favor of Flatonia.
Thanks for the pointer!

@cassandra17lina I worked at a truck stop in Lansing that sold pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was a pain the the backside for us employees but a big draw for the restaurant.

There’s still time to order an absolutely awesome pecan pie from Potter Country Store in Schulenburg Texas. I used to stop there on drives between Houston and San Antonio. The pie is a great “bring along” to a Thanksgiving meal (unless you’re dining with folks with nut allergies…) pottercountrystore.com/

Some Thanksgiving reminders to keep your furry friends safe when they turn on their “but MOM! I was a starving stray!” charm.

The full-scale invasion day 1,000th.

We owe everything we have to a Ukrainan soldier - who’s tired, unwilling, outnumbered, and outgunned, sensing grief and injustice - yet who keeps doing the terrible job every single day to save the world.
