This just happened.
Green light on a car charger.
This was the last step in a 4 year saga that caused more anger and angst across neighbors than I care to share.
It's over.
And it's successfully completed.

took the drone out for a spin just now, went up about 50 feet, hovered, and a hummingbird zipped up close, took a look, and took off. i could almost hear it laughing.

@BeGrateful I volunteered for 4.5 years at our county animal shelter and “compassion fatigue” definitely took its toll on the staff.

@AskTheDevil The bargain they *thought* they were getting was that he’d hurt OTHER people.

@cassandra17lina I love how all these people voted for someone who said they'd do things, and their excuse is they don't think he'll do them.

Trump is already screwing over his faithful followers. Some don’t believe tariffs will hurt them so they’re laughing it off. Some don’t believe he’ll even enact them. Some do believe they’re going to be enacted and they’re going to hurt, so they’re stocking up now (and then he won’t implement tariffs.) Most don’t believe that they could be furloughed or laid off if their companies can no longer compete. All these nitwits - and all of us - will pay the price for their votes.

Yes, haiku can leave
You perplexed, frustrated, or
Mildly annoyed

James Carville is just what you get if you leave Bill Maher in the microwave for too long.

@EdgeOErin Two evils who posed existential threats to navigation…

@EdgeOErin I had figured it would either be Scylla or Charybdis for Secretary of the Navy.

I joined CoSo on October 21st. I watched my first movie here last. I am working on speaking out more and I'm grateful everyone here is so supportive. This community rocks 💜

@altucker As my grandfather - an eminent doctor - used to say, “you can have fleas and lice at the same time.” Same with evil and stupid.

We’ve always known that Mango Mussolini wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, but by announcing his “Day One” tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China, he has taken stupidity to the next level. Americans are already rushing to make major purchases before Inauguration, thus driving up the already robust Biden economy beyond the usual Christmas spending. This ensures that the fiscal free fall when Trump takes office will be far steeper than it would have been without his tariff threat.

Christmas is cancelled in our household.

With the announced 25% tariffs I knew it was time to pull the trigger and buy a new fridge.

80% of fridge parts come from Mexico, Canada or China. 90 of fridges are assembled outside the US then imported for sale in the US.

So a word to the wise... you have 52 days to purchase all the things that will be astronomical after January 2025.

Below are some of the things Canada exports to the US, such as crude and processed oil.

@MelissaHDavis Never thought about flipping it. I cover it with loose foil after it starts to brown. Might give your idea a try!

Let's talk turkey.
How do you cook yours?

I bake mine breast down for the first 2/3 time, then flip it to let the skin brown on top the last 1/3. White meat is very juicy.

Remembering my dad who absolutely loved Thanksgiving dinner at my home in New Hampshire. My mom always hated cooking, so he and I did much of the cooking ourselves. Bring able to show up and fill up and relax was super special for him.

Oooooh we are getting so close!!! Think about all the things that you HATE about other social media sites and how they just aren't a thing here. Other sites are free because WE are the product and feed their ad/revenue machines. CoSo is different so we have to do things differently. Please donate!

@corlin very interesting… and an intriguing complement to the theories espoused in “The Secret Life of Fat” - one of the most depressing books I’ve ever read (edging out “War and Peace”.)

A new view on the gut microbiome and the social contagion of health.

"This has raised the obvious question why the biome in your belly looks the way it does. Where did it come from? We normally assume that the microbiome is mostly shaped by the food we eat. But a new Nature study provides a radical refinement of this story: our social interactions can shape the microbial communities living inside us."
