Even though it’s a hot day, I’m making Mr. Carolina’s favorite Cincinnati style chili this afternoon. It took me a few years to perfect if starting with this postcard recipe. The secret ingredient that clinched it? Semisweet chocolate! My recipe follows in the reply. #CoSoCooks
@cassandra17lina Chocolate and chili are the perfect compliments. Thanks for the recipe!
@cassandra17lina
I love chili and have a couple different recipes I use, but have never tried the chocolate in it. Thanks for sharing. I am gonna save for cooler weather and make this.
@cassandra17lina I'm thinking over French fries or tots!
@PurpleDragon Love that! I’ve even got some tater tots to try it on. Also great over hot dogs, spaghetti, macaroni, or rice or as a dip and it is AWESOME on nachos!
@cassandra17lina Ooo I'll have to try the nachos
@cassandra17lina Have always liked Cincinnati chili, but so many recipes are way to watery.
@John_Ripley as this simmers for a few hours, I stir it and dump the water that condenses on the glass lid of the pot. That takes out quite a bit of the water.
@cassandra17lina I love using chocolate in chile recipes. Mole is made with dark chocolate, and that's where I borrowed it too.
Here’s part one…
