I like it here :) I don't know why I ever went fully back to bird site.. I guess the rage cycle is more addictive than I thought... But after being here more over the last week and a bit my behaviour over there has changed too.. time for more gentleness in the world and more self care... It's been good for my mental health too

Thank you for your good influences 😘

Now have but no photo as in trying to take it I almost spilt it on the bed and I'd be surprised if you can't see spouses' "wtf are you doing" eye rolls from space...

Here's a woodcock from a stained glass window instead ❤️

CHRIST OF SAINT JOHN of the Cross is the most famous of Dalí’s controversial postwar paintings. In the 1940s, the artist abandoned the surrealist work for which he was known and touted instead a return to the classical techniques and craftsmanship of the Renaissance.

Happy birthday to Dutch painter Lou Loeber (1894-1983), born 128 years ago!
Lou Loeber was a committed Socialist at a very young age. Based on her political convictions, her objective was to ‘available to everyone’ as she herself put it. For this purpose she chose an objective, Cubist idiom with simple, geometrically determined areas of colour in bright tones. To some extent, her work is similar to De Stijl, although she never abandoned visible reality altogether.

Please consider that there are survivors of assault here, and the nonstop avalanche of posts about this can reopen their trauma. That can make this space less safe for them if they can't effectively filter.

Finally, ask yourself if what you are posting is your own thought, or a copy-paste of countless others. Yes, there is need for organizing, but simple repetition is not the way to do it. Remember that engagement on posts doesn't matter here.

Thanks for helping us all get through this.

Cosonauts:

I understand the raw emotions many of you are all feeling right now. This is heavy stuff.

Please, take care of your mental health and limit your doom scrolling / posting / boosting. All that grinding leads to anxiety and/or depression. Trust me.

I also request that your please tag all political posts , *especially* those related to the leaked SCOTUS draft. This will allow others to filter these posts if they need to do this for *their* mental health.

If you are looking for a “how to CoSo manual” - search manual in the search bar and it should pop up in someone’s thread. Or click this counter.social/userguide.pdf

Spent yesterday morning out hiking. It was a dreary morning, but it did have some bright spots.

Petition: Ban alcohol in the Houses of Parliament and all government buildings. petition.parliament.uk/petitio

If you are in the UK please sign, why should MPs get subsidized booze at taxpayer's expense when British citizens starve and freeze? What other workplace would give its employees carte blanche to drink at work?

If you are eligible to sign UK gov petitions please consider signing this one to ban sales of alcohol at Westminster and on other govt sites.
