When I decided to become a programmer and get my degree at 28... My first semester of college, the very first class I signed up for was Touch Typing.

I knew if I was going to be using a keyboard for the rest of my professional life, I couldn't get by just using the first finger and thumb on my left hand and my first 2 fingers and thumb on my right hand.

Now, many moons later, I'm still astounded that I think the words and my fingers fly around and type "all by themselves"

My new number one complaint about getting old is:

I can't play a video game for more than 3 hours at a sitting or more than 3 days a week, or My Left Arm starts "killing" me with pain.

I'm beginning to think it might be the first signs of Arthritis.

"Forensic Linguistics"

reminds me of the joke character in the Series "Bones" who was a "Forensic Podiatrist".

@corlin

I will probably join in starting Sunday until Wednesday.

Best as always.

Good Morning CoSo.

Anything interesting going on that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the current "Election cycle".

One of the hardest things I have ever learned to do is to allow myself to "feel" unsettled or unhappy and just go with it, and not worry or even try to "fix" it.

Sit and contemplate and understand both the feeling and what is driving it.

Which may or may not be able to help me change the feeling, but if not I understand where it is coming from and I can embrace what it is trying to tell me.

@0x56 of course the easiest solution for your telecom is to just recharge the carrier that passed on the message, until you get to the source carrier, and the source carrier can charge back their client.

Which would make it so that their Clients would have to PAY to send span... or the Carriers would be extra careful to make sure they have the actual person and billing entity (which means alot harder to hide).

Spoof riding would come out of the Carriers pocket. no charge to spoof victims.

@0x56

I have a better solution. As soon as you get a spam call OR text, you can report it to your phone carrier by SMS and you will immediately get a 5-cent refund FROM your carrier.

Suddenly Carriers would fix the problem (which they totally could do with software) because instead of spam making them money, it would cost them money.

And the beauty of this solution is the FCC has the power to do that today.

Needless to say the Telecom lobby really hates this idea.

Here is where you can learn more about (and even build and test for yourself) a Benham's Disk.

If you follow the directions and spin the disk, your eyes will tell you there are colors being shown
