Saw the last episode of HeartStopper on Netflix last night.

62 year old man, almost crying because of "visibility".

Great show.

A Story that visibility, even under threat, is so important.

There are happy endings and we all owe it to those first marchers in 1970 who marched on Christopher Street and in LA to make sure we are Visible.

"I've seen things you people would not believe...

"Young people finding a community at a gay bar for the first time in their lives ...

"I watched sequins glitter on outfits of the drag queens in on the stage...

"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..."

So how many of you caught that the Legend of Omashu was subtly changed in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender?

In then 1970s the Kinks release Lola and I was 8 years old.

3 years later, when someone told me to really listen to the words, as a 11-year-old boy just starting to understand that I was gay..

That song meant so much to me!

"I'm not the world's most passionate man
but I know what I am
and I'm a man

"And so is Lola, la la la Lola."

When I was 11 I wanted to NOT be gay

When I was 15 I thought maybe I didn't want to be alive

When I was 18 I thought if I could have chosen I wouldn't have chosen to be gay

When I was in my 20s, I was just having a lot of sex and finally learned to actively enjoy being gay, but still thought probably wouldn't have chosen.

Here I am in my 60s and I'm actually REALLY REALLY glad I am gay and would totally tell about to be born me: "Definitely pick the 'I am Gay' option!"

Red, White, and Royal Blue was a great movie!

If you have Amazon Prime I heartily recommend it if you like rom-coms with a Queer plot

Finished watching Season 2 of Heartstopper on Netflix last night.

One of the rare cases where the continuation of a YA m/m romance is as good and "real" as the first installment.

5 of 5 stars.

I'm going to buy the comic source material!

When that anthropologist or philosopher tells you that the idea of "homosexuality" is a modern concept and can't be applied to the past...

Get them to tell you a year at which the modern concept should not apply.

Most will pick somewhere around 1870 or thereabouts.

Point them at this article and tell them WRONG... 1810 at least.

As a gay man, living in Florida, who loathes Rhonda Sandtits, I do need to point out to people, that Disney holding Pride Nite at Disneyland, doesn't really do anything directly to shite-head.

Cause Disneyland is in California.

Now if they announce they are going to hold Pride Nite at The Magic Kingdom in ORLANDO, that will be them giving Shite-head the finger.

Because then Rhonda will try to revoke their liquor license, and then the fur will fly!

I would like to take a moment to address my fellow Queers and Queer friendly Co-Sojourners about recently complaints related Corporate sponsorship of Gay / Queer events, such as Pride Parades, along the lines of "They only are our friends when they want our money". Usually bemoaning the commercialization.

They may have been exploiting us, but they LOVE our money, and now THEY are helping to fight back against queer-phobia.

Visibility even if commercially is GOOD!

To the New Folks.

Welcome, this really is a great place to do Social Media, but it's different from what you have known.

I honestly don't know how many people I follow, or how many people follow me and while I can find out with 1 click, I honestly don't care.

I'm here to be me, and to share who I am, and help who ever I can help along the way.

I'm not looking to monitize or become an influencer.

If you meet a CoSo influencer on the road, do us all a favor and kill them.

I came to sexual maturity in the early 80s. It can seem to suck to have to practice safe sex; let's be honest it's really not as much fun for many people as non-safe sex. I won't try to sugar coat it for the youth of today and say things like "it's just as good..." cause it isn't.

Having said that, know that there is already a vaccine for this version of the Pox, we just need to make more of it, and we are.

So Safe Sex for the next couple of years then let's all party!

Some people just give us Queer people a bad name.

Ezra Miller is looking more and more like they have climbed aboard the express train to Batshit Crazy.

Being Queer doesn't mean that you can't be an asshole, a bigot, or a fucking psycho.

Here is a good op-ed about how I sorta feel / view corporate pride sponsors:

'I mentioned the dazzling display of Target Pride merch to a younger friend after my visit, and she rolled her eyes. β€œThey only want our money,” she said. β€œThey have no real interest in the queer community. I’m so tired of corporate queer-for-profit nonsense.”

'And this is where she and I don’t completely agree.'

"These Are The Male Body Shapes That Women Find Most Attractive. Sorry, Men."

iflscience.com/health-and-medi

Side note, the researchers clearly show their heteronormative prejudice, cause the same is true of Men who find Men attractive...

Started watching HeartStoppers on Netflix last night.

2 episodes and an SOOO good so far. And while I'm not one of those who thinks that Straight Actors can't play Gay people (Hal Sparks for example), I think HeartStoppers really adds something by having queer people play the young lives they "know". It has an honesty that is wonderful.

End of episode 2 <spoiler>, A character puts into Google "am I gay".

I remember, like it was yesterday, asking myself that very question.

I don't want to gaslight this author, their experience is their experience and I have no personal authority to speak to it's authenticity.

But I can't help finding parts of it disquieting.
