Mainstream media this morning is spinning the Dems flipping NY-3rd District yesterday as "bad news for ." 🀣 🀣 🀣

Mind you, after redistricting this district leans Republican. When the smoke clears, Suozzi will win by something like 4 percentage points.

But it's "bad news for Biden." πŸ™„

Breaking from : Democrats flip George Santos' vacated House 3rd District seat with a 54%-46% win. The margin of victory is expected to narrow.

For those upset about the House Republicans' vote
to impeach Homeland Secretary Mayorkas without cause ...

The resolution passed by one vote. They rushed it because George Santos' 3rd District is having a special election today to fill his vacant chair. If a Democrat wins, then the Republicans lose that one-vote margin. They had to do it today, otherwise they couldn't pass it.

The polls close at 9 PM EST. I wonder if the impeachment will piss off people who still have time to vote.

BREAKING from :

On the second try, House Republicans impeach Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas without citing a high crime or misdemeanor. The vote was 214-213.

When the special counsel released his report last week, I predicted the House GOP would use it as a pretext to impeach .

Does anyone know what time Taylor Swift is supposed to take the field and endorse Biden? πŸ€” 🀣

... ,They could have held a daytime formal presser today in a controlled environment with no shouted questions.

They could have prepared a presser where played to his strengths, e.g. a briefing about global events and a healthy economy, then taken questions. He would have demonstrated his experience and wisdom, then made fun of his age during Q&A. That would have ended it.

Anyway, that's how I would have handled it. (2/2)

Personal opinion, as an old politico ...

The White House blew it by acting as if the special counsel's cheap shots were a big deal. They put in front of a hostile press thirsty for red meat in a live impromptu conference.

The smart thing would have been to issue a statement crowing about his innocence as detemined by a prosecutor.

As for the age stuff ... (1/x)

He did say he thought Israel's response has been "over the top" and also said that, although he has no proof, he suspects Hamas launched the attack to sabotage the pending agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which would have built an alliance against Iran, Hamas's benefactor.

Last night's previously scheduled all-star panel was supposed to be about and , but it opened after the presser. They all leaned into the inappropriate opinions in the special counsel report, e.g calling Biden self-involved and assuming self-importance. (Spoiler ... He's the President.)

The bottom line is that the report exonerated Biden. Opinions about mental faculties were irrelevant and could be taken as partisan.

Last night's impromptu press conference ... Personally, I don't care for these "scrum" events where the press scream and yell for attention. Some presidents have insisted on an orderly Q&A. I thought it made Biden look confused.

Also, Biden said the "president of Mexico" when he meant Egypt. Fox News is all over that.

tells reporters that classified documents were packed, moved, and stored by staff.

Reporter: "How bad is your memory and can you continue as president?"

Biden: "My memory is so bad I let you speak."

Another reporter in the room asked the president if he believed his memory had gotten worse.

"My memory is fine. None of you thought could I pass any of the things I got passed. How did that happen? I guess I just forgot what was going on."

I've noticed that the Republicans and mainstream media are running with the quote *out of context* that the special counsel said has a poor memory.

If you read the document, it actually says he has a poor memory of how these specific documents wound up at his home seven years ago.

Could any of us remember how one box of work papers out of thousands wound up in our garage years ago?

Idle thought ... Even though the special counsel's report concludes that probably made an innocent mistake and any prosecution would lose in a court of law, I suspect House Republicans will use this as a pretext to impeach Biden ASAP.

Anything to distract from .
