The White House blew it by acting as if the special counsel's cheap shots were a big deal. They put #Biden in front of a hostile press thirsty for red meat in a live impromptu conference.
The smart thing would have been to issue a statement crowing about his innocence as detemined by a #Trump prosecutor.

#Politics ... ,They could have held a daytime formal presser today in a controlled environment with no shouted questions.
They could have prepared a presser where #Biden played to his strengths, e.g. a briefing about global events and a healthy economy, then taken questions. He would have demonstrated his experience and wisdom, then made fun of his age during Q&A. That would have ended it.
