Observation:

The Electoral College is like backwards affirmative action for rich stupid GOP presidential candidates.

Especially Trump.

It's a kind of ruling class aristocratic white privilege.

If there's a more glaring and obvious example o fthe wealthy and stupid living by special rules and getting different treatment, I'd like to see that!!

The corrupt Robert's SCOTUS:

"Hold our beers..."

@TheAbbotTrithemius

USA the land of opportunity where the majority vote can get hijacked by the minority vote.

@TheAbbotTrithemius

Solution.

What we do have time for. Is the national popular vote initiative.

The bill will take effect when enacted by states possessing an additional 65 electoral votes.
That's all we need. It has also passed at least one legislative chamber in 8 states possessing 78 electoral votes.

@corlin

I remember reading something about this, I just don't see howit gets past the CORRUPT Robert's/ Harlan Crow SCOTUS..

@TheAbbotTrithemius

Because all elections are run by the states. And this is a state initiative.

The supreme Court has absolutely nothing to do with it.

If there is a court battle, it will get no higher than the state Supreme Court.

And so far, no one has filed a state suit against it where it has already passed.

@TheAbbotTrithemius Now that Biden has immunity (thanks to the SCOTUS inJustices), can’t he just disband the Electoral College?

What could happen? It would be part of an official act — so he couldn’t be prosecuted for it.

@Route10 @TheAbbotTrithemius And, correct me if I'm wrong, nothing could be done by anyone until after the election?

@Route10

He's all bogged down with caring about democracy, election integrity, respecting people across the aisle, not acting like an asshole monarch.

He even thinks Washington stepping down voluntarily and not seeking to be president for life was behavior worth emulating....

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???

@TheAbbotTrithemius Well, Lincoln
suspended habeas corpus to save the Union. 😀

@Route10 @TheAbbotTrithemius To start with, the electors don't meet all in one place.
And the electoral votes are counted at a joint session of Congress; how would Biden stop that?
It will take a constitutional amendment to rid us of the Electoral College. That requires approval of 3/4th of the state legislatures. So, roll up your sleeves and get to work electing members of your state legislature who will support this. There will not be an easy fix.

@KamloopsBob @TheAbbotTrithemius

I get it.

I'm just saying -- based on the RepubliQan desire for a monarch-type president -- Biden could always beat them at their own game, no?

OR -- in the event of a Trump win (HOPEFULLY UNLIKELY NOW) -- have Kamala refuse to certify the vote -- just like they wanted Pence to do. Force their hand. Have them force it to go to SCOTUS. I wonder how'd they'd rule (cuz if Pence had done it, they would have supported his move, don't you think?)
