@danialexis @sumpnlikefaith Christianity started with an informal gathering. It can get back to that.

I've probably said this here before, but it's more true than ever:

The US is in a race between christian extremism and secularism.

The numbers show that churches are increasingly desperate because they are shrinking, in every way. People started empying the pews in earnest during Trump's first run. It's accelerating again.

The US evangelical complex is currently upside-down -- it cannot cover its assets internally. It is now being propped up by international sources.

@AmericanPartisan there are two aspects to voters like this: intellectual and moral.

Being ignorant is one thing, it happens to us all. If unintentional, one is blameless.

But the moral failure of voting for Trump on so many ground, that's on them.

@DavidVanstone1 I actually thought this over. Pre-social media it was email, MIRC. And now ironically its email, Discord, and video chat.

Attorney General Bonta: In California Progress Will Prevail

"As Attorney General, I’ll continue to use the full force of the law and authority of this office to address injustice.

To stand up for all people, especially those who have long been overlooked and undervalued.

To safeguard reproductive rights.

And advocate for more housing — especially more affordable housing for lower and middle-income families just trying to get by"

Wanna know something about me? Tough titty, I’m tellin’ ya anyway! Ever hear of the show Letterkenny? Well, I grew up about an hour from there. And yes, they really DO talk like that. It took me YEARS to lose my “North of 7” accent. 🤣 🇨🇦 🍁

@JazzCrafter preferred brands for the water filter and campstove and array?

DC Comics has a character called Major Disaster who can cause disasters and see the flaws in things. Once, like 20 years ago he got his powers enhanced.

He made a statement as he looked at the world, seeing every flaw, saying "This is what it's like, watching it all fall apart."

I RELATED so hard.

Oh and for those of you wondering, yes Project Management is an AWESOME job!

Also it requires you to deal with the existential horror of seeing the flaws in EVERYTHING.

So yeah, the last few years have been hard.

As a PM, most systems run due to everyday things people do. It's a mix of Standard Operating Procedure and heroic efforts to deal with the problems with Standard Operating Procedure.

If either of those are disrupted, things fragment. If both are disrupted at the same time for a duration, the system shuts down and can even collapse.

This is honestly why regularity matters. You can do the same old same old AND have the energy for whatever heroic measures correct the dumb things that pop up.

welp There you go

too many people have no clue how tariffs work, including the Presidential Felon Elect

Already getting stories of business cutting costs to create a cushion of supply in advance.. wont last long

Ted Giola states our society has a crisis of unseriousness. I not only agree, but argue it's fused with our bullshit-ridden economy of irresponsibility to create a toxic, unsustainable, blend.

I also invite people to look at how unserious they are.

Oh no, not anything now. As in if the US breaks up or that gets legs and DOESN'T happen, it'll inspire other countries.

I'm seeing far more talk of the US breaking up. A thing I'd like to note that if that does happen, it's going to inspire similar things in other countries.

No point, really just noting.

Ted Giola published a timely article asking if the us is in a "crisis of seriousness" that resonated with me.

I'd also say, yes, and we've been in one for about a decade.

@TheresaVermont This I think is a huge difference going forward. A lot of people are done with the relations they had. I can't imagine the effect.

‘There’s no coming back from this, and I have no room in my life for them anymore. They officially endorsed the most dehumanizing figure in modern public life. I’m doing this on behalf of the people I love who are most likely to be harmed by him and his lawless agenda. I’m not storing “friends” like keepsakes in the Rubbermaid tubs of my life anymore. You’ve shown me who you are, and I believe you. Now, I’m showing you the door.‘. somethinggigantic.com/2024/11/

I had a chat with my sister earlier. She & I agreed that we were both going to start now with buying a little extra of things we already buy. An extra package of toilet paper. Deodorant. Meat on sale for the freezer. Perishables that will keep - rice, flour, beans, canned goods.

Because by February we figure the price on things will start going through the roof.
