My election take - America made a choice which won't serve it well, moreso with climate change. There is no sustainable future in people's fevered dreams.
We can work to ensure that people survive, that the good in us survives, and that what remains is a foundation for a better future. But the US - and humanity - are heading for a derailment of climate and bad policy.
For me, I'll be sticking with my work in health care, work on sustainability and resilience, and keep up distributing books.
@Minholkin I think Kamala will win, but either WAY, I'm all for women's anger unleashed and focused.
As a guy, I'll be here to shut up and help. It's time.
"The U.S. Justice Department has been cleared to send lawyers to polling sites in Missouri and Texas on Election Day to monitor compliance with federal voting rights laws after those Republican-led states had sued to block it from doing so." https://www.reuters.com/legal/missouri-sues-block-justice-department-sending-poll-monitors-2024-11-04/
We need to find a way to support people who mail in votes and want to vote independently, without intimidation #politics
@mcfate Montel also has far more features.
@mcfate yeah. "Oh she dated Montel Williams! She may have slept with him!"
Like, this is Montel Williams. If she did, it was ENTIRELY warranted.
OK I just made Rout Cakes, ala Max Miller and I 100% get why people loved these. Sweet but not overly so, with floral undertones, they're between cookie and biscuit.
@singlemaltgirl yeah the metaphor does break down there, doesn't it? But still.
Trump says non-endorsing papers show the owners think he's doing a great job.
Patrick Soon-Shiong and Jeff Bezos could have shut up, but now their cowardice has been turned into an endorsement.
Why our focus on polls drives us mad - and how it relates to "The Unaccountability Machine's" theory on organizations going mad when focused on one measure - https://www.stevensavage.com/blog/2024/10/madness-from-the-measure.html
@jdtasker it's not going to end well.
