@kel Just not in the way that it's unfolding. They all know that this kind of thing can get out of hand quickly and if not for a perfect storm of events they might have had control to some degree.

@JailTheTrumps And I agree with you. The problem is, however, that conservatives have ALWAYS been mistrustful of democracy, so since the 80s they've made sure that the minority vote gets preference over all, especially when it comes to budget fights.
Read Nancy McClane's "Democracy in Chains" and marvel at how the 1% did it knowing they were in the minority.
