With the possibility of warring "simplifiers" because Schumacher's "small is beautiful" is the perfect model of a more progressive approach to similar ends. Then we can return to range wars, and microecosystems designed to steal from or fight one another. Sigh. Humans.

Homeless Android Camp. Panorama made with a number of diff AI image makers. Playing around with the victorian paintings of battles but with more weird themes. Have to look close at this low rez.
@holon42 Yep Well they have been saying the knew the secret to roman concrete for years, (pumice from vesuvius, etc) and now new theories, but reality is we have not bothered to try and integrate those learnings, but relegated them to the past anyway. As KS Robinson built upon in Ministry For The Future, we build our civilization selfishly, and ignore the option to create a better world for our grandchildren. Life is change and so is the popular definition of art, it would seem.
@holon42 @tgraph52 Yep, just like photography caused despair and ridicule in the painting community. Perhaps the saddest part is loss of past craft rather than having to accept a redefinition of future art. No one makes Roman concrete anymore, hence collapsing bridges. So by analogy we will just have to drive off this bridge too.

My opinion of AI art so far. The use of Natural Language Processing by some vendors will make prompting easier, and while this evolution is not hard to participate in, making art vs. decorative images remains as elusive as ever simply because this change will change the nature of art. Remember, almost none of us know how to paint with oils, and oil paints themselves was evolution that created big changes.
@jasontrebilcock Yep I have the ones you gave me all safe and in boxes in my basement. Call when you need em. (Jus' kidding, dear NSA)
@Museek Another difference is Trump colluded with Russians to get elected, and therefore the risk of payback in the form of giving them U.S. secrets seems a strong possibility. Is anyone looking at that???
@ExecutiveFunction404 Again I 100% agree with you. Small clarification: conspiracy theories are memes.The dissemination of these theories is the same as the ice bucket challenge in how they propagate. The difference being they may originate in social or tv, but they are vastly amplified by politicians and their supporters to drive action in their favor. The GOP makes so many nonsensical theories to 1( demonstrate commitment 2) to see which theories raise the most money. IMHO
@ExecutiveFunction404 Oh, I am not being somehow apologetic for them. They use these memes for power seeking, not simply hysterical coffee shop talk with friends. The line between opportunism and belief is so fine that I think only the stupid, confused rubes among them actually believe what they are telling constituents, but all of them move from theory to theory in order to keep the money pouring in. They have learned it doesn't matter if they believe a theory, because the result is the same.
Normalization of insanity to get through a news cycle: why, oh why, do members of the press keep writing articles about the GOP leadership believing in conspiracy theories? They don't. Conspiracy theories are memes manufactured by people for money and deployed by politicians seeking power. Only the voters believe them. Regardless, voters brush off many theories and keep those that assuage their fears. The problem is not conspiracy theories, it's lack of accountability. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2023/01/conspiratorial-thinking-polarization-america-united-kingdom/672726/
@Dogofalltrees Gotta love a lens with "character" :)
@Dogofalltrees I have shot Leica and Nikon for 40 years. The look also comes from deliberate application of depth of field, use of the extreme lens sharpness (the lenses have higher resolving power than the cameras) and exceptional contrast. The color is carefully tuned on the sensors to create a bit of pop (M240) but mostly very neutral color. It's a very particular camera that makes you think and lets you see outside the frame lines as an extension of your eye. Not for everyone.
@corlin One person's genius is another person's monkey splatter. Art is an enigma, when done right, which means it has inherent meaning, but that meaning differs for different people. Good art focuses the mind on this enigma, but like all else these days, more voices means more noise, and the genius at work is overlooked. A noisy system is the foundation of successful AI, sadly. All IMHO.
@HumanistEngineer @LoomShroomDoom
Not as able to be controlled as Dall-e2 but nice range of pro features. It works, thanks!
@Maude Can't wait for those green tin cans to start melting 25mm depleted uranium holes in Russian tanks.
