@voltronic Voter disenfranchisement also needs to be addressed. Every high school needs a solid civics course as mandatory for graduation. AND the teachers need to emphasize the importance of every single vote counting. If we continue to push the rhetoric that one's vote is worthless then why make the effort to get off one's ass? Also how about funding more polling locations in areas poorly served? Hard to want to vote if you're in line for 4, 5, 6 hours. @0x56 @Evvie

Good morning CoSo!

In one week we went from -44*F windchill to +57*F back to freezing (but not sub-zero). Last night the mud was so bad it was trying to suck the boots off my feet. This morning it was frozen solid.

We had coffee and breakfast muffins while watching Colbert’s monologue. We rarely stay up to watch him, but find that breakfast with Colbert starts our day with laughter, which is our main way of coping with this disaster.

No difference between Republicans and Democrats...

Do you realize the House under Democratic leadership will hold its first hearing on gun violence in 8 years? Also the House committee sets first climate change hearing in eight years.

Gun control and climate change.. no hearings under Republican control for 8 previous years.

Win the House, flip the Senate, take the WH. Remap districts, Pack the courts and do shit our way for a generation. Let’s get to work.

These are just some of the reasons this butterfly sanctuary needs to be defended.

There are better security options than clear-cutting and destroying life!

We saw what they did with pipelines. We need to employ direct action because they won’t consider the intricacies of disrupting this habitat.

The danger of Bolton, he MUST be stopped...

Why is Bolton against these nuclear security treaties that Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals, have championed? Because he thinks they make America weak. In 1999, he decried the liberal “fascination with arms-control agreements as a substitute for real non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.” A year later, he ridiculed “the Church of Arms Control.”

Good morning CoSo! Looking forward to a warmer day. I am hoping for relaxation and maybe a hike.

Oh, and watching the Cat Bowl. And also a bit of the Super Bowl. And guacamole!

I suppose they shut off their notifications because they aren’t interested in socializing or discussion?

Prior to getting the job I have, I interviewed with a company that worked for DTRA (Defense Threat Reduction Agency). The sole purpose of this job was to take highly specialized reports written by doctoral level analysts and recreate them using language at a 6th grade reading level. During the interview they stressed that point AND that I'd help create videos. They also mentioned that these reports and videos would be seen “at the highest levels” so that DTRA could continue to get funding.

Trump busted for shipping radioactive waste to a state he lost in the 2016 election

The Trump administration was caught shipping radioactive waste to Nevada — in spite of the state’s insistent opposition to becoming a toxic waste dumping ground.

Brrrrr.

But we’re managing.

This house needs a wood burning stove, though. Going to save up for one!

Because *realDonaldTrump loves veterans, his version of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau fined a man $1 for a decade of illegally swindling vets out their pension payments.

It was 5*F when I went out to do morning chores. The wind is strong and the windchill is substantially below zero. I bundled up and stayed warm, except my face. I need to find my balaclava. Tomorrow is supposed to be MUCH COLDER.

I am savoring the warmth of coffee with just the right amount of milk. Mmmmm. Nothing more comforting on a cold day than a warming drink.

Wherever you are, may you be safe and warm today. 💜

Just a test. Was unable to post last evening and got only error messages.
