But I also got a text from one of the parents I gave my contact info to so my daughter could have play dates this summer. 🥹

So that’s big news for me. Making friends in your late 30s is freaking rough. But when it’s for the sake of your kiddo it’s downright suspenseful.

Parenting is checking with your child no less than 6 times to make sure they don’t need to go to the toilet, then spending 10 minutes setting up for their every possible whim or desire while you are indisposed, and telling them 3 times, “Mommy needs a few minutes to go potty. I’m just upstairs. You are good.”

No less than 5 seconds after your tush touches faux porcelain, “MOM! IT’S AN EMERGENCY!!”

I haven’t seen a poo through to satisfactory completion in about 6 yrs.

In for neurologist appointment today and the medical assistant has me heated. I advocated for myself and got a new doctor within the same practice and she seems to think she gets to have an opinion about what provider would be most appropriate for me. Thinks I need a headache only doc. Piss off. I have Spina Bifida and a subarachnoid cyst behind both eyes. I think I know what kind of doctor I want looking after me.

Does Colgate make irregular flavors? Are they pulling a Coke or Lay’s?

“Nice design but you will want to make it appealing to the customer. What does it taste like?”
“Idk, Pamela. ReGuLAR toOtHpAste.”
“So like spearmint? Peppermint?”

I just had my primary care virtual follow-up from my ED visit on Sunday. The first thing my Nurse Practitioner said was “you’re pregnant!”

…After I literally begged the ED doctors to flag it in my chart as a false positive from the hcg trigger shot. I did IUI less than a week ago. No chance that’s an actual real positive yet (as much as I might wish for it.)

I can’t take anymore sky-high hopes being dashed. 😮‍💨

How are we feeling?

Connecting with other parents is really hard nowadays. 😮‍💨 Everyone has folded inwards. Yesterday I took some cute little notes and handed them to the parents of friends my daughter likes to play with most. Basically saying that kiddo wants to keep in touch text me if you want the kids to have play dates.

I work in healthcare. I am not socially uncomfortable in anyway. But that was the most uncomfortable I’ve felt and been looked at in a really long time.
