If she were truly a sociopath, she would be much more likable, and she isn't.

ON this date in 2019 Astros fire Brandon Taubman for directing inappropriate comments to female reporters.

It's really a shame he wasn't the US President then, he'd still have a job...

Saying “Mary Jane” instead of marijuana makes more sense now. For the first time, more women are consuming cannabis than men, leading to a major shift in how companies market their products, Reuters reported. Women make up 55% of users on the weed-centric app Jointly, while women aged 19 to 30 are blazing more often than men in the same age group, per a survey from the US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

ON this date in 1948 - The term "cold war" was used for the first time.

It was in a speech by Bernard Baruch before the Senate War Investigating Committee.

Actually, Mr. Baruch had overheard a conversation between Bun Man and Mr. Purple where Bun was describing his recent marital discord w/ his 4th wife.

Bun uttered..."It's chilling sometimes, but then we have great make-up sex; it's like a cold war."

Mr. Baruch just took a little editorial privilege.

ON this date in 1901 - Daredevil Anna Edson Taylor became the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a wooden barrel. She was 63 years old.

Little known at the time, Anna was actually pining over her rebuke from Bun Man. Bun had told Mr. Purple and I that "Anna, she's a cutie, but she's bound to fall hard..."

How prophetic he was; Anna would go on to become one in a series of Bun's Exes who gained more notoriety after him than while w/ him.

Apparently, this happens to a lot of dudes...

Boeing Stalemate Continues

Boeing's 33,000 production workers voted to continue their weekslong strike yesterday, rejecting a 35% pay raise over four years and $7K bonuses, among other benefits.

The vote came as Boeing reported a $6B third quarter loss, raising its full-year losses to $8B amid quality concerns over its 737 Max aircraft.

And has a military personnel population which has only known combat tours and minimal rest before the next tour, do you think we’ll get a Peace of Westphalia?”

Bun Man looked at me and said “I got this…”

Bun continued “Little Buddy, in 1648, nations didn’t know war could be profitable; in 2016, American business knows war is profitable, peace is not, don’t look for peace anytime soon.”

And so it goes…

ON this date in 1648 - The Holy Roman Empire was effectively destroyed by the Peace of Westphalia that brought an end to the Thirty Years War.

Reading this, Mr. Purple asked a fair question, “Given the US has been at war now for 20 straight years, is now involved in more wars than even strategic planners thought possible at any given time,

CIVILITY AND DECENCY...Words to Live By

"Civility is the sum of the many sacrifices we are called to make for the sake of living together.”

2019 from Robert B Reich...

RT @RBReich
Let me break it down for you:
✔️
Zuckerberg makes $28,538 per minute
✔️
Today's testimony was 6 hours, so 360 minutes
✔️
$28,538 x 360 = $10.3 million — which is 221 times the median salary of a U.S. worker ($46,696)

Still think it's radical to tax the rich?

AND IT'S ONLY GETTING WORSE.

Mikster has me watch that pilot episode of Kathy Bate's new TV show, Matlock.

Looks like we're offering up revenge in a matronly manner.

Looks good
