@Madken65 Speshull, huh? *thwap*
It's early...
@Madken65 Ah. Is that it? You haven't put on your filters yet?
I think so, this time of the day, I'm still out there casting nets to see what I catch.
hehehe
@Madken65 I'll remember.
Please adjust for time zone differences...just sayin
@Madken65 If I can remember your time zone. It's relatively early here and I just took my first sip of coffee.
Our tradition is to go watch the sunrise over the ocean and go for a long walk/hike that day 💛😊
Decided many years ago that was the way for us ✨
When we lived in Delaware, we were right down the street from the Walmart store.
Traffic would start about 0200 and continue through sunrise.
It was maddening, said the dude whose last name is Madden.
Ugh it is really sickening :(
@Minholkin @Madken65
..But surely that doesn't make her last name Sicken?🤔
Also, sunrise over the ocean. 😍
@Madken65 @Minholkin
The closely thing to consumerism I do on Thanksgiving is the food I have purchase to cook or possibly the fam finds a movie and goes to a late matinee. 🚫🛍️🛒

@Madken65 I consider Black Friday a Blessing. My daughter's birthday is this Thursday. Usually it lands around this holiday. I take her Birthday present shopping.. time for the two of us have together. I look forward to it every year. 😊
@Madken65 Yeah... so I'm told.. 🤣 😜
And tell your kids Hi from me and the Mikster...Glad your daughter ended up in education.
@Madken65 great day to sleep in.
@Madken65 I worked 10 years in retail. I go out of my way to avoid buying on Black Friday. Exceptions would be groceries since get paid on Fridays and don’t always have enough to stockpile so need to pick up some staples when I cash my check. But I avoid even that if I’m able.
We don’t need as much as we think we need, and I struggle with that because I’m a stockpiler. I get anxious if I don’t have extra stockpiled away. But I still try to avoid purchases on Black Friday.
@Jorro @Madken65 I do try to shop at the local family owned supermarket in town if I have to pick something up but being a small store they don’t always have what I need. HyVee is my next choice, if they don’t have it I may do without because all that’s left around here is Dollar General and Wally World (aka Walmart).
@Jorro @Madken65 We have a nice but small supermarket and across the street from that is a Dollar General. There are also a couple tiny, family owned, Mexican stores and restaurants on the main street of downtown which is a couple blocks from my house. So if I needed to I can walk to the grocery store. I just can’t buy frozen items in the summer.
@Jorro @Madken65 To shop at Walmart I have to drive 15-29 minutes to get there, park 3 miles (yes exaggerated) from the door then walk through 20 miles of stuff I’m not interested in to get to the groceries. I’ll pay extra to shop at the store 4 blocks from my home with the most excellent deli and most of what I need. I admit to still getting my paper goods at the Dollar General but I’m weaning away from them as well after seeing the John Oliver show about how they treat their employees.
@Jorro @Madken65 It’s not so bad if the temps aren’t freeze your lungs cold or fry your brain hot. I now try to park a decent distance from the doors unless I’m in pain that day. It’s not really worth trying. It saves on my stress levels and gets me extra steps if I just park at the end of one of the lanes.
@Madken65 Good morning. Nah.
