Baked onion for lunch today. Core it, fill the middle with some bullion (I used roasted garlic), a fat (I used bacon fat), some chopped up bacon, then wrap in aluminum foil and bake 375 Heathen for an hour. After that I added seasoned bread crumbs and Parm and a quick broil to make melty.
Dunking the bread in the broth at the bottom is π€€π€€π€€π€€π€€
I won't eat a whole onion for lunch, about a third. The rest will go with dinner.

We are not grillers, but we did inherit my FIL's grill when we bought this house. It's an ancient thing; I'm certain it has grilled its share of brontosaurus ribs.
But we tried grilling on the 4th of July. It went ok! Decent steaks and excellent chicken (thanks to my son). Part of our success was this heatmap we made using slices of bread. Revelatory! Next time we'll try to distribute the heat better.
