@nnlightsbookheaven I'll keep you in mind. Do you do publishing as well as a small press (not vanity)?
What sort of editing do you do? I've had experiences with: acquisitions editor, developmental editor, copy editor, proofreading editor, etc. (in the book industry) and also various experience with newspaper editors.
It would be nice to know what we're talking about regarding referrals. :)
I just realized it was colder in Boston, MA today than it was in Fairbanks, AK where I once lived. It only got down to -3° there.
It was -19° at my daughter's home in NH this morning. At least she knows how to live in very cold environments, having grown up in Alaska.
We got off easy with the ice storms. No trees down in my area, but lots of branches all over.
A friend just got her power back today - 5 days without.
Lots of independent contractors running around with chainsaws, cutting up fallen trees and branches and hauling them off.
Feel back for the folks up north since in Boston it was -9° this morning. They're not used to that.
I was notified about a coffee recall. For hot chocolate. Which I didn't buy. I got coffee. 😕
My sister got an "FBI" notification from a FB email from a google account that her refusal to pay $150 to get money returned to her would result in her arrest. I sent it off to the FBI and told her to ignore it. Does anyone fall for this? Guess so, or they wouldn't keep sending it out. 😦
@LiberalLibrarian #CoSoMemes #kindness
No kidding re: treating people with kindness.
Sometimes it boggles my mind what people do and say to each other.
Somedays the best I can do is make mounds of cookies and cupcakes and feed people.

A Boston attorney and former colleague of U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts' wife, Jane, has filed a complaint with Congress and the Justice Department alleging her work as a legal recruiter poses a conflict of interest at the Supreme Court.

The standard of proof in a civil cast is a preponderance of the evidence (51%).
No 5th Amendment protection.
This is how OJ Simpson got taken down.
My sister was making a meat dish and Kinley was so interested in the smell I was able to get a capture of her. She's usually camera shy
@walterbays In my novel, dark magic is foundational magic.
Light is chaotic. Gray uses a little bit of both. Dark is what you need to create a universe, except you also need Gray and Light for that task. 😉
There are many meanings for dark.
@DarkeConteur I know someone who does paid beta/dev edit work in fantasy/urban fantasy.
She used to do it free until I told her she needed to start charging.
Yes, I ruined it for everyone, including her, because she now has less time to write.
If you need someone like her, PM me and I can get you in touch with Sarah.
@walterbays I have hearing friends who use CC because of mumbling dialogue and loud music tracks. So, yeah, I know about this problem. Thanks, though. 🙂
I rarely watch TV shows or movies because these days many of them are also too dark.
The wonderful thing about books is that they are never too dark, the characters don't mumble unintelligibly (with a few deliberately described exceptions) and there's no loud musical score.
😀
I had to read your post twice to realize you were not talking about actual cracked eggs.
😱
Today I had to explain the difference between cousins and nieces/nephews to my elderly sibling. Blame it on a DNA site identifying the grandchild of our brother as her cousin...
🤔
After confusing CoSo eggs with refrigerable eggs, I'm now wondering about myself. Eek.
😂
I hope you're happy, you cad you.

@redenigma @JohnnyGenX @BlueRevolution @WhiteRose Being unable to speak is difficult. I hope he can sign or write.
It is called selective because the brain shuts down at times of great stress regarding the ability to speak. It's not like he gets to make a choice. It's probably neurotransmitter related.
Lots of Deaf/deaf/HoH folks are shot because they have no idea they're being told to stop.
Call for help and possibly die by cop. Huge problem in the disabled community.
@JohnnyGenX @redenigma @BlueRevolution @WhiteRose I will say this about Brookline, MA cops. When I lived in the area and went to conferences on Deafness + Criminal Justice, they sent large contingents. Because of all the Deaf/deaf/HOH in their area in disabled housing they pushed officers to learn ASL and Deaf culture.
It is the only time I've seen humanization of a disabled community.
Most Deaf/deaf/HOH are at extreme risk because they'll consider you a risk if you don't respond.
@JohnnyGenX @redenigma @BlueRevolution @WhiteRose Having spending two decades in social work and having been with police on call outs for various reasons, they dealt with violence issues and I dealt with other concerns. There were no beat downs in front of the social worker.
I lost all illusions about the police when I landed in a town where cops ran the drugs.
@redenigma @BlueRevolution @WhiteRose @JohnnyGenX Police should not do: social work, substance abuse counseling and myriad other things. Not unless they want to get certification as social workers and substance abuse treatment staff. They don't fight fires, do they?
@JazzCrafter there is a request by the national archives for every president since Carter to search for docs. It does not apply to Carter as he signed the law but it did not apply to his admin.
From now on there must be a routine search at end end of every administration.
@JazzCrafter That when someone leaves office here is an automatic search by the FBI be SOP. That no stone be left unturned.
There was a time when one of Jimmy Carter’s people accidentally left highly classified documents with a journalist. It was totally unintentional. The journalist didn’t realize it was classified. Years later his daughter took them to school for show and tell. A teacher saw the classified markings and called the FBI.
