@Keep_Real @WuzzaDiva @daniel @th3j35t3r every time I have mentioned counter social in conversations with everybody I know who have asked about where I’m going I have gotten hammered by Facebook. But they didn’t do it right away. They waited and then hammered me about 10 to 15 times so now I’m waiting to be banned.

@JazzCrafter You did this during the Nixon administration?

These files are largely stored in highly confidential sites. They're stored for something like 50 years.

Most never leave high-security areas.

And, honestly, is that microchip trackable by satellite? Because that's what you'd need to find random papers. That must make it fantastically easy to find overdue books. 😂

Because if you can do that, a lot of third world countries trying to monitor their people want to talk to you. 😜

@JazzCrafter

most classified documents are kept in a skiff. For another thing, I think will be very difficult to tag every classified document that leaves a skiff to go to a presidential office or to a vice president’s office, because we’re talking about something that would have to be applied every single page and most of the things that can track them are relatively big.

Also, would be tracking everything since the time of Nixon. No chips then.

@Fur_Mama4Life as long as the gun lobby owns a large proportion of elected officials in states and the national capital I doubt anything is gonna change.

I lived in Australia for about a year, and when I came back to the United States, I was a nervous wreck because of the level of violence here compared to what it was like there.

I lived in Mexico for about a year and felt the same way when I came back.

If I had the money, I think I’d move to Canada.

@silent_dystopia @th3j35t3r I now have seven warnings on my account for using the term CounterSocial. It’s become so bad that I researched my account and took off every mention of the word social for the past three years even though I haven’t been here for a full six months yet.

If I didn’t have a business account there, I might just tell them to throw me in Facebook jail, but it would adversely impact my business if they did. And I went to Facebook jail one time for using the word: dolt.

@nnlightsbookheaven I got curious about where you were located and went to your website. But I am in such a rush this morning to get back to doing that proofing. I thought I’d just ask you. Where is your book shop located? I have friends all over the United States because I’ve lived all over the United States and for all, I know, I might have somebody in your area who isn’t familiar with your business and I could tell them about you.

@CinnamonGirlE it is absolutely the guns. Once I got a bad enough injury to my right hand, that I questioned, whether or not, I could safely operate a fire arm I got rid of them. The last thing I need to do is accidental discharge a gun and hurt myself or someone else. Most people don’t need a gun and it’s crazy that we have more guns than human beings in America.

@nnlightsbookheaven by the way, years ago, when I was just out of high school, and my journalism classes there , I went to work for a local newspaper. My very first editor, told me to read my writing backwards. One sentence set a time. No computers then.

Now granted if it’s something long, you may lose a bit of recollection of a plot point, but if you read your story backward, you read the sentence individually and don’t get caught up in the story.

What in the ever loving 🖕is going on with elderly mass murderers?! I thought by our age we should have our 💩 together enough that this does not happen. TWICE in a few days? More WTF!

Okay, I know some moderately basic bonkers seniors. Grumpy. Skeevy. Some disintegrating mentally-sad. Some lacking the good sense of a goat. But this???

I know people say it’s not the guns. I’ve been a hunter. It’s the guns. Without a gun there doesn’t get to be a mass shooting.

@LiberalLibrarian

I don't do much YouTube, however, I might have gone on clueless and untroubled by politics on the service had you not mentioned it. 😆

OTOH, it's as well since I'm going to be exploring to more for marketing my urban fantasies.

Politics. There's no escape from it, I take it. 😭

@Eridani

Hurray! So happy to hear about the sale of your graphic novel!

@spacesloth I realize most folks don't believe they can afford an employment law attorney to look over a contract, but since I once did that work, it's extremely important.

Quite a few employers now mandate only arbitration which is almost impossible for an employee to prevail in.

Non-competes are deadly.

@Mizmo

I have a professional graphic artist for the books. I make the covers for my magnets on CANVA.

@nnlightsbookheaven

I have edited before.

When I write I use a few tools (PWA, etc.) but I also have the ms read to me while I am following the ms visually.

I've had books edited (acquisitions, copyedited, proofread) by Aspen Legal and other professional companies. I've gone through gally and corrected issues and then has the freaking compositor screw everything up.

Honestly, I do better than Wolters-Kluwer's professionals.

Which is why I do my own proofing.

@nnlightsbookheaven I'd love to say I'm reading something fun, but I'm proofing my own book on KDP. 😩

At least I enjoy my own writing. 😜

Ahh, FB AI. I got hammered twice for spam for saying Counter Social. I have an authors page there so I have to play nice.

So I made this graphic and I'm telling all my friends it is a counter with social people under it.

@Floki_ I am sorry to hear this. I will offer hope. My sister-in-law’s sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer and lived for 20 more years to eventually die of cirrhosis. One of my friends daughters was told she had terminal brain cancer about three years ago. She’s still hanging in there and she is still working. I hope your sister is like these women. Hugs to you mother.

@InventingRealityEditingService

I corrected a copy editor last week for changing never-ending to neverending. Too many people were influenced by the movie The NeverEnding Story.

My legal publisher hired someone as a copy editor who kept correcting legal terms of art. 😩

Every writer's nightmare is getting the wrong copy editor.😱

I keep CMOS on my desk these days.

@Xenofact

I got caught in the dot com bust in the 1990s when I worked for a CMGI subsidiary.

Hopefully, we're not going to lose over a million jobs in tech as happened then.

I do remember then scratching my head over the disparity between what was being paid out vs what was coming in and thinking it couldn't go on for long at that rate.

Apparently Twitter has severe cash flow problems.

And yes, some of it may be bandwagon-jumping.

@CapeSafety Unfortunately, as long as he is a citizen (which I've never seen proven yet) and of sufficient age, as well as meeting the residency requirements to be elected, there's not much that can be done as there is no federal recall mechanism in place.

I'm not sure it's ever been documented he IS a citizen.
Remember what Obama went through? I'd be interested in seeing a long-form birth certificate on this guy.

I'm stunned the Democrats did no oppo research.
