@MeTheUnfiltered I have a business present on Threads and I don’t have a problem. You have to work for a little while to find your group is all. It’s just a different format than here, and everybody has to learn how to work in each different type of format
@allin I am happy to note that off year elections seems to have beaten many of these people into the ground.
We didn’t have any off year elections that would’ve involved them where I live. However I was absolutely delighted to find that school vouchers were voted down in Texas. So now Greg Abbott won’t be able to gut public schools.
This is a post from my substack, partly about an urban fantasy giveaway and partly about my books. I want people to remember there's a free urban fantasy book giveaway on the 8th!

I will keep people up-to-date on the exact place that will be identified to go and be able to get the links for the free book download. I just wanted to make sure people knew this was going to happen.
@WestofMars sometimes death brings out the worst in people. I’m sorry that happened to you.
@allin they should rename themselves as mom for repression.
@allin we are very lucky that these bonkers people are not on the library board. I doubt that they will ever be able to be on the library board because they have been such total jerks in public.
@allin mom is for liberty or a mega Christofascist group they are absolutely out of their minds. They can fate federal communications commissions with pub Aub books they have taken over school boards in one library had 14 books when they were done. Over my dead body are they going to do that here. I’m going to change the narrative on them. We live in a nation of laws not outlaws they are outlaws.
@allin I’m sorry to hear that. At this point in time after what I found out today, I am gridding myself to go to war against these monsters.
@WestofMars grief is hard It triggers brain chemicals associated with depression and we end up with time dilation or compression. I’m glad you have things to keep you busy because I’m going through a grief process myself right now and when I’m not fully engaged doing stuff, I can end up running around in circles. It’s a process, so be gentle with yourself.
@anniecoughlin man, I must need more coffee. It took me like four times of reading that to realize there was a dash in there that impacted the reading of the sentence. It’s a nice quote, but it’s just kind of funny that I kept going what is that saying? Or maybe it’s the dyslexia kicking it I don’t know. 🤣
I am not on Twitter/X. A friend sent this to me. I’m gonna be talking to the library today about these yahoos. I think we’re going to buy the library two new copies of these books. And yeah it’s not just about replacing the book. They’ve got to spend time to do all the things they do to enter into the library collection. This is what happens when extremists can’t get their way.
@AskTheDevil Yeah, it was validation. And the cameraman from the TV station looked appalled, but his camera hadn't started rolling yet.
Bottom line, if we want things to change, we all have choice to step up or run. I figure they can only kill me once. My dog died, so they can't hurt her.
Everyone wants things to change. It takes people willing to step up to back racists down. From here on out, that person is me.
And the book remains! We won!
I don't comment often here. Kinda busy. My day didn't end until around 8 tonight what with being involved in "Good Trouble." I do stop by and read when I can. Today I hoped to encourage people to be that person who is willing to take a stand against Christofacism and #bookbanning.
I didn't realize how much what I said meant until after the meeting when others came up to me.
Of course, there was also a cameraman for the opposition who deliberately tried to knock me down as he called me names

I was fortunate to be able to speak for about 2 minutes. Extemporaneous. Pointed out I was both a CPS worker and an attorney (retired now) and books they want removed from the teen section help kids who have been hurt realize what's happening to them is wrong. They often report and seek help. Repressive families don't want that.
While I was there one right winger demanded the GBLTQ+ teens be removed from the room. (Grrr)
I was asked for a TV interview. OK. Stand up and shout
#bookbanning
See something, say something. I recently found out Mothers of Liberty is attacking my local library—the board, the librarians, etc.
We always say: why doesn't someone do something? The first time I ran into them I confronted them as liars. Then I notified Mothers Against Greg Abbott and lots of them called in support.
Today I went to the meeting and pointed out that the book they want teens not to read is about child sexual abuse.

Me: tooters, I wander off for a little while I come back and I’m seeing the same obsession with Twitter and I wonder why. l I dumped it a long time ago and I don’t miss it. Most people never had any followers on Twitter. It’s like a circle of Dante as hell. sometimes people send me Twitter links, and I can’t even look at them because I’m not a member.
There is Coso, Threads and I’m moving into substract because I’m finding a good marketing tool for a writer. Let X die. Have a good life
@Dogofalltrees I have my fingers crossed for you. I lost my heart dog on August 4 and it has been a very rough road since then so I will hope with all my heart that this is a benign bump for your dear cedar. I don’t want you to have to go through what I’m going through cause it ain’t pretty. Another one of my friends just got a diagnosis of cancer on his dog and he’s just a mess. So let’s make Cedar be the one that’s going to be OK
