#bookbanning
See something, say something. I recently found out Mothers of Liberty is attacking my local library—the board, the librarians, etc.
We always say: why doesn't someone do something? The first time I ran into them I confronted them as liars. Then I notified Mothers Against Greg Abbott and lots of them called in support.
Today I went to the meeting and pointed out that the book they want teens not to read is about child sexual abuse.

@allin mom is for liberty or a mega Christofascist group they are absolutely out of their minds. They can fate federal communications commissions with pub Aub books they have taken over school boards in one library had 14 books when they were done. Over my dead body are they going to do that here. I’m going to change the narrative on them. We live in a nation of laws not outlaws they are outlaws.
@J_Windrow We had ONE M4L challenge 93 books in our district. And because her pals were on the board, they let her go past the regular procedures for a book challenge. The district is now in the process of reviewing all 93 books costing a ton of $ and time. It makes my blood boil.
@allin we are very lucky that these bonkers people are not on the library board. I doubt that they will ever be able to be on the library board because they have been such total jerks in public.
@allin they should rename themselves as mom for repression.
@J_Windrow or we could.name ourselves
Moms for Libraries
@allin I am happy to note that off year elections seems to have beaten many of these people into the ground.
We didn’t have any off year elections that would’ve involved them where I live. However I was absolutely delighted to find that school vouchers were voted down in Texas. So now Greg Abbott won’t be able to gut public schools.
@J_Windrow that’s quite a win in TX! Bravo!
@J_Windrow I’m going to ask them about the name. Really……., Moms for Liberty????
Whose liberty are we talking about here?
For thee but not for me!
