Tolerance, in and of itself, is not a virtue. Neither is open-mindedness.

Because some things shouldn't be tolerated, and some ideas shouldn't be open to.

It's okay to be intolerant of the intolerable, and it is okay to be close-minded towards ideas that have no merit.

The problem with "debating" in good faith against someone arguing in bad faith is that the bad faith debater is always going to "win" because they don't care about the rules. They only care about appearing like they are winning, even if they are not. In the words of Innuendo Studios, it's all about being "short, quippy, and wrong."

"If you worship a God who sacrificed his grown son to fix a problem he created"

I'm sorry. You want me to take your blatant bad faith misrepresentation of Christian doctrine in good faith?

I'm supposed to argue in good faith against someone who couldn't care less if they argue in bad faith?

Again, Brandolini's law: "The amount of energy needed to refute BS is always an order of magnitude larger than it took to produce it."

Like, for starters, OP is incorrect to state God is fixing a problem He created. He's fixing a problem mankind created. Man brought sin into the world, and God was forced to clean up the mess they made.

That's not even an opinion. That's just reading what was written in the Bible.

Again, if atheists aren't willing to address matters of theology in good faith, why should I bother taking the time and effort addressing them in good faith? It's a fool's errand.

I hate to bring up this post again from yesterday. But I can't think of a better example of Brandolini's law: "The amount of energy needed to refute BS is always an order of magnitude larger than it took to produce it."

Like, I could explain why this post is abject nonsense, but doing that would take far more effort than this person made in writing it.

This person doesn't care to address theology in good faith. Why should I attempt addressing them in good faith?

@MookyTroubadour Look, I don't think Disney is innocent in all of this. They were the ones who were donating to politicans who wrote and passed the Don't Say Gay Bill. Their hands aren't clean.

But they are a hell of a lot better than Meatball Ron. He is the worst. Undoubtedly, the worst.

I'll take "run of the mill greedy corporation" over "crypto-fascist politician" any day of the week.

Look, I hate to get "political," but I currently live in a state whose governor suggested, at a press conference, with a straight face, building a prison next to Walt Disney World.

Sorry, not sorry. I'm not going to pretend that's a normal position held by a normal government official.

@KrystalWizard

My brother not in Christ, I do not have the time or patience to get into a theological debate with some internet rando.

You want evidence for anything? Google is free.

Yeah, the person un-ironically shares posts like this and then goes on to share other posts calling Christianity a "death cult."

"Don't be a hateful bigot. BTW, does anyone else hate Christians?!?"

😒😒😒

"Hi, I'm a person who cares about spreading awareness about Autism and other forms of neurodivergence. I believe in love and tolerance and feel we should be inclusive of everyone!

BTW, did you know that Christianity is totes a death cult! LOL!"

😒😒😒

So there's this cool neurodivergent influencer on Facebook I've been following for some time. I really like their memes about Autism. But they recently posted an anti-Christian meme. I promptly unfollowed them.

The ironic part is that they're the type of person who insists they care about "tolerance" and "acceptance."

Yeah, feeling a whole lot of "tolerance" and "acceptance" with posts like this! 😒

I'm going to say it: The Onion is JUST AS funny as the Babylon Bee.

"So are you saying The Onion is just as unfunny as the Babylon Bee, or that the Babylon Bee is as funny as The Onion?"

Yes.

At this point, it’s hard to get mad at stuff like Ultra Right Beer. If right-wingers really hate “woke” brands so much that they want to throw their money away on “anti-woke” beer and chocolate and other products…like, let them!

Me logging onto CounterSocial and seeing countless anti-Trump memes...

And God said to Noah, "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind."

Noah pondered for a moment, and said, "How emasculating! Can't you use something else?"

Some Dimbulb: You, random Christian on the internet, justify your religious beliefs to me. Debate me!!!

Oh, look! A shiny button with the word "Block" on it.

I wonder what happens when I push--

Pharaoh: Enslaves the Hebrew people

Pharaoh: Kills their firstborn to prevent an uprising

Pharaoh: Allows nine plagues to befall his people because he refuses to free the enslaved Hebrew people

Pharaoh: Agrees to free the Hebrew people, but goes back on his word at the very last minute

God: Kills the firstborn of Egypt in retaliation

Some Dimbulb: OMG! How could God do such a thing?! That's so evil!

😒

Statistically speaking, public school teachers sexually abuse more children than priests.

But y'all ain't ready for that conversation.
