Unfortunately, this has been a sad #CoSoCaturday because our sweet, little, almost-16-yr-old Mikey is no longer with us after 15 yrs, 7 mos. We had to make the decision to end his suffering from kidney failure this morning. We are heartbroken & miss him so much. #CatsOfCoSo ๐ฟ๐

Itโs frustrating, because Mikey is yet another of our kitties who ultimately was done in by kidney disease. This is after he fought for nearly 2 and 1/3 years against lymphoma and IBD, and he was still doing well in that fight until the kidney disease came on only 2 months ago and accelerated to end stage only within the last couple of weeks. Despite our best efforts to treat with daily subcutaneous fluids, it was all too much for him.

@GEAUXJayna Thank you. And you are very correct; it never gets easier. 2020 was one helluva a year for us. We lost 5 babies, 3 of which we had to make 'that's decision. That year especially can go eff itself.
@ShowDemKitties Wow! Thatโs terrible. We lost 3 of ours between July 2018 and Nov 2019 due to various illnesses that they fought valiantly for as long as they could (at least 2 of the 3 were most definitely senior kitties, but it was still heartbreaking), and we thought that was excessive.
