Spanish, to the point that I'm feeling comfortable with basic interactions, ordering, short conversations, reading with some translation help, and I've done a few lessons each in Chinese, Esperanto, and Hawaiian as well, just for fun.

It's still very difficult to listen to conversations in Spanish and get much out of them. But I'll get there, if I live long enough. It helps that I spend half my time in Puerto Rico - where they speak very rapidly, and have localized phrasing/words.

Guess I better get to thinking about cornbread.

Today, Jane Fonda came to boost one of our local candidates for County Commissioner - which has been six Republicans for the last 60 years. Fonda's PAC picks progressive / environmental candidates down ballot to back.

The last two contestants for CC3 each increased our vote percentage but never enough to win. Perhaps this is the year. #politics

Dear free users, we're glad you're here. You make up the bulk of users. Some of you only post a couple of times and are wandering around to get the feel of the place. Some are interactive and enjoy the community. If you're the latter and you've been here more than a year, maybe give a fuck, and give a buck. Can you do 12 bucks a year? It would help. Is it too much if regular users could pop in a dollar a month? Maybe after a year free? I think that would cover J's deficit as well. Is a $12 annual subscription for all too much?
