@Marc_T_Benedict Yeah, Rainier is practically in my back yard. lol I think she sheltered us!
@Marc_T_Benedict Yeah, we seem to be pretty sheltered from the massive winds where I am. I thought this might be different, since they were East winds, but nah. Biggest gust I saw was around 20mph. Others aren't so lucky though. MASSIVE power outages in the foothills!
I survived the "bomb cyclone" the media was trying to scare us with. lol They always make it sounds scarier than it needs to be. SMH
Our power flickered a lot, but never went out. I know the entire west side of the Cascades, from Bothell to Buckley is without power though. THEY got hit the hardest. Was watching a live stream from a weather chaser, and they got 70MPH gusts in Enumclaw! Crazy high. #PNW #WAWX
@catlynne333 I have experienced that, yeah. Last time they were pretty understanding. They thought I was concerned about my tooth, lol, no sir, I am concerned about the sound of the drill, the smell, the feel....They went as quickly as they could, without messing up, but I just wept the whole time. I was embarrassed AF too. smh
@catlynne333 I had a full on melt down the last time I went. I need to go back, but LOL.....Yeah RIGHT!
*Whine incoming*
I have to drive to Olympia to take the kids to the dentist today. I hate the dentist so much, I have anxiety about going, and I don't have an appointment! lol
I also don't leave my lil town very often, so driving to "The Big City" also makes me buhjiggity. lol
I have become such an anxiety filled lil noodle. *sigh*
My current read is "Green River, Running Red" by Ann Rule. Book about the Green River Killer.
I lived in his killing/dumping ground when I was a child. Two bodies were discovered real close to where I lived. He was like the "Boogeyman" to me. It wasn't until he got caught in 2001, that I realized he was real, and what he'd done. #TrueCrime #Books #Reading
I had to remove social media apps from my phone, for my own sanity.
I spend far too much time doom-scrolling and it's having an impact.
So, if I have to be on a computer to access them, I will access them less. :) People are very kind here, but it's very political (with good reason) and my brain cannot handle any more, for the time being. (I know how to "use the tools", please don't tell me to use them, I do). <3
@KazzyH We are also in for a windy afternoon/evening/night! Generator is ready! I hope you keep your power and no major damages occur!
I say buy the cow! ;)
@Countessa It was the Volkswagen dealership, so its absolutely overpriced. We are going to go to our local small shop mechanic for the actual work.
Took daughters car in for some recall work. Husband noticed there was no heat. Asked them to look and let us know. They wanted $1,600 to replace the heater coil. Another over $600 for front brakes, and $65 to replace windshield wipers. As well as flushing some fluids.
I said they could suck my left ovary. Ain't no fuckin' way.
@AverageCitizen I went to the Toyota dealership and they didn't have any 2025 4 Runners! So, that ended up being a safe stop. lol
@AverageCitizen Fingers crossed it's done in time!! And that is a smart kiddo! lol
Today, we drop the Daughters car off to get the last things fixed, then she can STOP DRIVING MINE. lol
Now, while it's getting fixed, do I be responsible and go to Costco? Or do I be irresponsible and go to book stores and the Toyota dealership to look at the new 4-Runners? lol ( I think they are ugly but wanna see one in person)
I hope everyone has the day they deserve! :)
