I survived the "bomb cyclone" the media was trying to scare us with. lol They always make it sounds scarier than it needs to be. SMH

Our power flickered a lot, but never went out. I know the entire west side of the Cascades, from Bothell to Buckley is without power though. THEY got hit the hardest. Was watching a live stream from a weather chaser, and they got 70MPH gusts in Enumclaw! Crazy high.

@Evereigh We had a few flickers last night. But a coworker mentioned a website, windy.com, that kind of put things in perspective for me, indicating wind gusts around 30 kts in my neck of the woods, maybe 40 on Friday. Not exactly terrifying.

@Marc_T_Benedict Yeah, we seem to be pretty sheltered from the massive winds where I am. I thought this might be different, since they were East winds, but nah. Biggest gust I saw was around 20mph. Others aren't so lucky though. MASSIVE power outages in the foothills!

@Evereigh Makes sense - all that wind from the east funneling through the crevices in the Cascades. Where I live is near-prairie, though. I can see Rainier and the stump of St Helens (on a clear day), but aside from those I can't even see the Cascades from here.

@Marc_T_Benedict Yeah, Rainier is practically in my back yard. lol I think she sheltered us!

@Evereigh @Marc_T_Benedict it just started in on us in NorCal, I’m buckled in and ready. We’re expecting 6” rain in the next few days.
Good thing that I’m on the same power grid as a hospital and emergency services.👍
