@jsto It's been gawd awful this year too. π€¬
@ChippySuave So does narcolepsy which leads to insomnia thanks to the meds for narcolepsy πππ
@grrlscientist Most of what I see in my notifications now is people I follow pimping the number of extra posts I can view if I subscribe for $
Very few people I follow are folks I can't follow elsewhere for free. There also seems to be the same 3 advertisers ad after ad and they're not something I'm even remotely interested in. Twitter has become totally worthless sh*t & I rarely go there anymore. It had a decent run, been on there since 09 but it needs to join MySpace in the internet dust bin.
@grrlscientist Not surprised in the least, it was, after all, his intention all along. He's an absolutely horrid person.
@Tarnagh Yep..been here a long time. It's a great space!
@duglop hee hee. π
@john_b Yes they do! Cat mom and wildlife fan.
@voltronic @spacesloth There's also the fires they start. FD going full tilt tonight. Aerial displays are illegal virtually nationwide but it doesn't stop people from buying & firing them off. All fireworks are illegal in all but one city in my county but you couldn't tell that from my area. Really bad this year as almost 1/2 of the PD are on leave due to an investigation finding corruption, racist behavior & remarks. People are clearly taking advantage of the lack of law enforcement this year.
@duglop I hate this effing holiday with my whole heart! The booms scare the hell out of my cats and all of the wildlife. Not sure where these fools get this much disposable income because the illegal mortar rockets they're firing off cost a fortune, they're also highly unpredictable as to trajectory and premature explosion. My area sounds like a war zone still even though they started about 8 pm. I've already been through a fire in the easement. I saved my house but 2 others were destroyed.
@duglop TBH am hoping some of these idiots shooting off fireworks (they're illegal in almost the entire county & aerial fireworks are illegal in almost all states) would learn a lesson the hard way. Had the hottest day of the year so far yesterday at 105Β° and there's so much dry grass everywhere. FD going full tilt chasing vegetation & structure fires. I'll be up most of the night watching for spot fires in the easement behind my house and my large yard. I was yelling I hoped they'd lose a hand.
@th3j35t3r Matches his misaligned brain, family, and party affiliation π€
@Cachobweeney The problem in FL is most insurance companies don't do business in FL anymore. There are very few to select from and those that will insure homes in FL often exempt coverage for hurricane and/or flood damage from coverage. FL home owners end up paying through the nose for coverage that often doesn't cover the 2 things most likely to affect their homes.
@Cachobweeney Actually it's the middle class, people on fixed incomes, and working poor on whom roofing companies are placing liens. Truly wealthy people have the money to pay for homeowner's insurance (hard to find and super expensive) or the cost of a new roof. If wealthy people are being slapped with liens it's most likely an oversight due to them thinking their policies covered the roof replacement when they didn't.
@WeThePeople So my question is which repugnicans had access to those briefing slides?
@esaeger Well China and India have benefited hugely from American companies outsourcing so much manufacturing to them. We definitely need to bring manufacturing, and other frequently outsourced positions, back to the US and stop feeding their sense of economic certainty.
@LiberalLibrarian I've seen this before but it always cracks me up ππ
@esaeger Corporations steal American jobs by outsourcing nearly all manufacturing jobs to other countries for the cheap labor and materials so they can jack up their executive's bonuses and increase their shareholders stock value. Immigrants are not taking American jobs, heck if they wait long enough a US Corporation will probably open up a plant in their area and they won't even need to come here.
@TheKarlWLewis @SaltyVeruca @JailTheTrumps And a whole lot of out of state donations to help organize and advertise...$50 million total between the 2 candidates I believe. We really need campaign finance reform because the amount of $$$ that's required just to run for office, much less win, has reached the point of insanity.
