97° in the shade at the Toyota Amphitheater where hubby bought VIP tickets for Disturbed for me for Mother's Day. VIP doors were supposed to be at 4, ended up being 4:30 and concessions just now opened so got shaker cup cocktails, 1 strawberry & vodka, 1 watermelon & tequila. Cute cups! We were able to put our swag in the car before entering, some cool stuff, hopefully the vinyl doesn't melt! Seems we got excellent seats, don't know 1st band, then Breaking Benjamin, followed by Disturbed. 😊👍🎵🎶🎵

So I was skimming the pool at about 3 am two nights ago (we've been doing a SLAM for black algae for about 3 weeks now and I suffer from insomnia so it seemed like a good time for it) and scooped out what I thought was a big leaf. The leaf was only halfway into the net so I went to tip it all the way in...then it stood up and shook out its wings 😳 It was huge and I'd never seen this bug before. Turns out we don't usually get these here, rescued 2. #katydid #insects
My cute little cat, Poppy, that will always be kitten size decided to stand on her hind legs at the same time I was leaning down to look under the bed for something. She's mostly blind in her left eye so probably didn't notice me. Her little head collided so hard with my right eye that am now having weird flashes of light when I blink and eye is trying to be colorful. Who the hell manages to get punched in the eye by their cat's head?? Surprised she didn't knock herself out!! #Cats #CatsOfCoSo

Hubby made me Mother's Day dinner tonight which had to be delayed from last weekend due to a dental issue. Yummy!!
Baby opossum just before we released it into a tall shrub last night. The sanctuary had us measure it and when stretched out it was 7" which they told us was the size they start to drop off of mom and go off on their own. Felt it would have a better chance of escaping the notice of the backyard ferals if we put him up in the branches of a bush than on the ground. Bye bye little guy! Heard a scrabbling sound in the vicinity of our outside recycle tonight and found we had a tiny visitor. Will either release him near dawn when most of the feral cats are off sleeping or take him to the nearby wildlife rehab. He's smaller than some of the rats we get so worried a cat would get him. #wildlife #oppossum #babyanimals
