Was just going through some images looking for something, and this delightful reminder of better times popped up.
Imagine relying on a space to differentiate your brand in this day and age. The Montreal Alouettes should've called themselves 'Les Roughrideurs' TBH. 😂
Someone tooted the other day about a guy who claimed to have voted for T**** because America was the laughingstock of the world under Biden.
I thought that was a pretty flimsy reason then because America absolutely wasn't the laughingstock of the world under Biden at all.

The tide’s further out today, but you can see that the sand is finally starting to come after being washed away by the “unusual“ storm activity (translation: new paradigm caused by climate change) this winter. It was “unusual” alright. I’ve never seen that happen.
The sand’s covered up the rocks at the base of the stairs, and the beach is staring to look like it’s looked for the 25+ years I’ve lived here.
This clip jolts me every time: Put aside the bald head, and the mannerisms and facial expressions are just so similar...

These supermarket board members/executives are mostly pretty mediocre dudes, but all have one exceptional quality: utter, utter shamelessness.
They're public companies, so we can see their profits and the way they use accounting tricks to make it look like they're not profiteering off customers and farmers quite as ruthlessly as they are, yet they spew this nonsense.
As long as shareholders get their dividends, they get their bonuses, and that's all that matters.
There was a thoughtful article in the paper this morning about how T****'s election and idiocy probably won't do much damage to Australia's economy.
I remarked to my mate that, while that's probably correct, it wasn't my biggest worry.
Now, just like clockwork, the worst among us show that they've learned how to exploit a bigger worry about it.
Note: This odious cretin occupies a seat that was essentially bought for him for $120 Million by an equally odious mining billionaire.

Not that he had many to spare in the first place, but I think Winston Peters is losing his marbles. I guess he thinks he sounds tough to his Kiwi supporters, but Ned Kelly was a thief and murderer who was hanged 144 years ago, so he just sounds like an idiot.
Also, FWIW no one here gives even the smallest 💩 what Winston Peters thinks, or has ever thought, about anything.

The big parties control the government and they can't even keep their workplace safe.
Happy to give themselves pay rises, to work harder on finding ways to keep Independents from winning seats than on anything else, and to refuse to make their own corrupt behaviour illegal though.

This person is one of the 'conservative' OpEd-ers in my local paper, and she never fails to come up with weird binaries like this.
People like her (special mention to Bret Stephens in the NYT) are so high on their own supply that they think their views are important and don't realise that they're only being paid to write nonsense that makes readers mad.
