@MLClark
In my limited vocabulary a "Tankie" is someone in a tank regiment.
I really must try to keep up with all this, changing daily, modern language.
Nope.
It's Thursday . . .
Tesco delivery day . . .
Brace yourselves . . .
@mickcarty Whereas here in Kirkcudbright it has rained overnight but is now just overcast and quiet. We have had, and frequently have, far worse without the addition of names. But, I like Judith Ralston. She does her best with unpromising material.
@JoySuva True. But recognising that means that the rest of us have to do things so that they don't get harmed. Or, more old fashioned - "love thy neighbour as thyself".
@PowerpuffGeezer
We have a heat pad, bought from the Pharmacy on Doctor's advice, many years ago. You whizz it in the microwave for a bit and its ready. Neat.
@TheCard Maybe get them adjusted a bit ???

@northernbassist A colleague had one of these in UK at about that same time. He had quite a large family, but they all seemed to stow themselves in it successfully, and he said it was a good car. The rest of us looked at it a bit suspiciously 'cos engines are supposed to be at the front - totally forgetting those other colleagues who had Volkswagens and also thought they were good family cars.
I'd say, "Don't worry if you are struggling with Grammar, GranDar has the same problem too".
@Le_Canard_Noir "There’s only so many cat pictures I can share" - especially when you don't have a cat, a dog, or any other pet !
But, secretly, don't tell anyone, I do rather like them . . .
@grayduck Good. There are some good eating places in Dumfries, but we have rather lost touch with them since COVID struck in March 2020,so I would hesitate to recommend one now. Kilnford Farm Shop is very handy for those visiting the Royal Infirmary - as we do from time to time, by appointment or somewhat unexpectedly !
@Madken65 He didn't invent it.
"The properties of ether were also well-known before Morton’s operations. In 1800, the distinguished chemist Humphry Davy could be heard speculating that nitrous oxide “appears capable of destroying physical pain”, so it “may probably be used with advantage during surgical operations”. However, proposals that ether could be used in surgical operations were scandalous: pain was believed to be beneficial for healing . . . "

@grayduck So ? What or where does that get you - except out of pocket ?
@TrueBloodNet
Failing to support Ukraine translates as allowing Russia to do what it likes, wherever it likes.This is what happened in 1938 when Chamberlain let Hitler occupy the Sudetenland. The next year he moved again and invaded Poland and we were in WW2.
@TrueBloodNet My plan for today is to have no plan, and if I find myself thinking "in a minute I will . . . " I give myself a hard slap and tell myself to forget it.
Works for me, but my OH keeps finding jobs for me to do . . . . . .
