If I may suggest your local ethnic butcher shop?
Ah, my bad. These days "causing pandemonium" usually means "alt-Reich dipshits out dipshitting" I figured someone had found something to be upset about with you know, food or school or children. π€£
I'm actually not sure what's causing any pandemonium about this. Head Start, early childhood education, free meals, healthcare, child tax credits - all keep kids in school and learning, which has a measurable impact in shrinking the school to prison pipeline.
I must have missed something... sorry.
Documentary series on BBS, episode one (Baud) features Ward and Randy Suess.
Ward Christensen was a wonderful, humble, and brilliant man who built so many of the foundational pieces on which we rely today.
The first time I met him, he took me on a walking tour of Chicago - you have never met anyone so filled with curiosity and wonder.
RIP.
I admit I was pretty proud of this one. You could see it sink in. π
Talking to a couple of folks - both extremely religious, both Cuban immigrants, both waffling.
Me: I'm sure Stephen Miller isn't talking about Cubans when he references denaturalizing and deporting Hispanics and Latinos. I mean, the Cuban Adjustment Act was passed in '66 - no one would go back and undo accepted law.
Wow, serious shocked Pikachu faces.
Good.
I'm loving a 90 day election season, even with all the blatant bullshit being thrown.
I think we should make it law.
As you said, there are a HUGE number of voters and non-voters who don't pay attention until the conventions.
Conventions to election - that's it.
Cosmic Jr. on a James Spader binge. I suggested Boston Legal.
Now I'm rewatching Boston Legal.
What an excellent show it was. Got all misty when Betty White showed up.
The full Howard Stern interview with Kamala Harris.
New Harris ad. Trump vs. Detroit.
Oh, I got an incredibly detailed breakdown of the position. I know exactly what they are looking for and I'm a damned near perfect match.
And they didn't even play the salary game - all the numbers up front. 10 years ago, I'd have been all over it like a vulture in guts.
It's truly a shiny object... π±
Yah. My last two positions were corporate and I felt like I always had to be turned up to 11.
I'm leaning towards being incredibly flattered, noting my new theoretical worth, and thanking them for reaching out.
I really enjoy my job and I have a great team that is really starting to hit their stride. I'm fully remote, have terrific work-life balance, great benefits.
All that said, I had a head hunter reach out with an absolutely head spinning position. Insane money, options, bonus, fully remote, great company. But corporate, with all that entails.
Golly. Think I should have the conversation or sensibly stick with the position that absolutely fits my life and not play with the greed fire?
