Ward Christensen was a wonderful, humble, and brilliant man who built so many of the foundational pieces on which we rely today.

The first time I met him, he took me on a walking tour of Chicago - you have never met anyone so filled with curiosity and wonder.

RIP.

He had a vanity plate that said XMODEM. Randy died years ago. End of an era where hobbyists could change the world during a blizzard.

@Cosmichomicide I had a good friend back then running an 8-bit Atari based BBS from his apartment. He had written all the code himself. I helped him with getting a hardware interface setup to connect a couple of 'high density' floppy drives for additional storage.
