GOP guidance is to emphasize we are a Republic and not a Democracy and clearly only Republicans understand how the country should be be governed.
It's the same word game that has Uncle Snuffy say, "Democrat Party" instead of Democratic Party.
At least one state party added republic over democracy to their platform.
