@TAG04 stay warm; not sure if you’re in Tassie but I heard it was going to snow.
Oy.

@LlamaMountainStudioArts sometimes with detoxing, cold turkey doesn’t go as well as baby steps.
Maybe transition to green tea for a bit?
I also sometimes have hot water with lemon etc just to have a hot mug in my hands.

@q00w2 yeah the good news is that it is a calm, clear night. The bad news is that I was bitten a bunch of times just now by that creature; didn’t even hear them.
Worth the antihistamines

binocular astronomy from Mum’s yard in …
Was unable to observe comet but did some nice naked eye observing of Crux/southern cross, pointers etc (simulated image from SkySafari Pro)

Autumn here- heading towards the cooler, rainy months. Will be much cooler on Wednesday. But tomorrow is supposed to be 25C and I am so happy about that.
Banksia, orchid and rose (smelled divine fwiw).

Tired but got out of the house to get some fresh air and sunshine.

About to fly the long bit.
See ya in the other hemisphere

@corlin yeah my pile grows larger too, he he. I never usually want to damage books but this is one I already want to underline passages

Just started reading Judith Butler’s latest ; I love their words; I have leaned into them in my studies, but to find a new book by a philosopher one adores is a gift. While I am in Canada, timely read for US folks (chapter on Tr*mp).

@Kinnison It was my third TSE. Never gets old. Amazing. Completely worth all the stress in advance (planning, weather, coordinating other people, travel).
As before, my cranial cpu borked.
I was using eclipse glasses, my PST (during partial phases) and binos with and without filters
Looking at eclipsed sun for a few moments during totality through un-filtered binos is a sight that will stay with me. The corona, the prominences…
Wow.

Witnessed an Indigenous led prescribed grassland burn at High Park in yesterday. I think between Monday and yesterday my brain was trying to conflate the two events but also sometimes it is hard to put things into words, but there can be a serendipity of sorts.

Put the women in front, let them lead
Burn the fire
Scorch the Earth
Rejuvinate the land, the mind, reinvigorate the soul
The universe moves together.

Success seeing the on Monday from Port Burwell, ON, on Lake Erie shores.
I’ve written about it since then and suffice it to say my cranial cpu borked as it did in 2017. An amazing experience; would recommend πŸ’―. 10/10.
