I suspect it was related to the particular path of the storm, straight up the Appalachian highlands, rather than coming in from the east and dumping its water on the piedmont, where it's more typical to get the brunt of a storm's rainfall.

Yeah, if there are people who bought "season tickets" to follow the Grateful Dead city to city, I'm sure there are Trump followers retired and living in campers who do the same.

I heard it as a school for developmentally delayed kids, and one of the kids was in front of the class reciting for a parents day event. The teacher asked him the location of his eyes, ears, mouth, hands, etc, and he got them accurately. She then moved on to stomach, heart, lungs, larynx, spleen, liver, and the kid was right for every one. One of the parents exclaimed, "My goodness, how can you know all those organs?" And he taps his head and says, "kidneys."

They might actually appreciate if people broke in and took what they needed, maybe leave a list if they want to be honest and pay later, but I'm going to bet that losses due to flooding aren't covered by insurance, but losses due to looting are.

Trump is only going places his support is strong, and there are plenty of people who will come out for the chance to say they saw a president in person.
Once they have seen him though, not many will sit through the stream of conscious blathering long. They don't want to risk having their illusions destroyed -- no fun when he does it any more than if they were to listen to us telling them facts.
I discount reports of people being paid. Anyone can post anything in Craig's LIst. Maybe a few people of color behind the stage have been paid, but there is always a small support from Trump there, and those people may be enjoying the attention and not getting that they are not respected any more than the balloons or other props.

works for me
You can watch evolution in real time any time a new antibiotic is introduced. A couple years later, you start seeing bacteria with resistance to this substance that never existed before.

What might save things is that Trump is now obsessed with whether people are leaving his rallies early. His security staff might actually crack down on violent supporters if the majority of attendees, especially women and families, are leaving.

Sorry you're going through this. The biggest benefit from something like Al Anon is knowing you're not in a unique situation, that there isn't something you need to do to fix someone who isn't ready to be fixed. If you're already comfortable with emotionally removing yourself from the rescuer role, it would be less helpful.
The irony is that the adults in charge of solving this crisis were probably exposed to similar levels of lead. The normal range was set much higher in the days of leaded gasoline, when all the air and soil was full of it from car exhaust.

Sure the URL shouldn't be GeocitiesEngineringWatch.org?
Meh, they'll like it, and they'll appreciate their own covered dishes having more prominence.

If she is bruised, rather than actually losing the blood, eventually the bruise clots, reliquefies, and then the iron is removed and recycled. If she able to get around without too much shortness of breath, the problem will sort itself out in a few weeks.
They're gonna want to see the receipts, though, not just take the word of the DOJ. There are too many instances where a prominent Black person became an embodiment of "the nail that sticks up gets hammered down." They are statistically far more likely to be personally acquainted with someone who was arrested for something they didn't do, too.
