@XaoslordErie I think a friend of mine could see it in me. He and I would drive around on nights he didn't want to go to a meeting but shouldn't be alone. He taught me guitar. His wife would roll her eyes when she came home and heard us at the piano singing Whiter Shade of Pale.
He died a couple of years ago, and sometimes I can almost still hear him telling me to play by how it feels, not how somebody else sounds.
@XaoslordErie Never had a cat who even seemed to notice my instruments before, but Gatsby thinks everything mine is also hers.
After today, I think it hurts more not to play. I never realized how much my ukulele has become part of me. The strings sing for me when I don't have words.
A string of things has kept me from playing my ukulele for a few months. Long enough for my fingertips to go soft again. And I'm in one of the worst arthritis flare-ups I've ever known.
But I played today. And it HURT. But the ukulele sang... And it was so worth it.
Now I just need to put new strings on my guitar and explain to my cat why we don't play with them her way.
@KarenSohne David Garrett's work is instrumental covers, so the original songs have lyrics, but no lyrics in his versions. Very emotional. His violin sings. And I LOVE his version of "Who Wants To Live Forever?".
@open_circuit I talk myself through it. I look at why I'm resisting. Does every part of the change have to happen? Do I have any control with how or when it happens? Is it actually good change and I just need emotional support?
I mean... I'm autistic. Resisting change and observing and analyzing my own reactions is what I do. π
@Gilmoure Okay, but Feynman's lockpicking was EPIC! π
Confession: I might be a big fan of Richard Feynman.
@BeGrateful One of my favorite poems. π
@John_Scotus But if people want it to be what it is, there's no need for it to "take off". Goal matters. Otherwise, you're trying to convince someone who only wants a flowerbed at the front of the house that they'll never be a successful farmer and be able to compete in the industry.
@Vindicar Luna is beautiful! π
Okay. Once I got to writing, talking about psychological masks was even more complicated than I expected. Trying to explain that not all autistic people are intense maskers, nonautistic people often mask more than they realize, and keeping the focus on what the mask charm indicates in a #divination reading...
I did the best I could without going too deep. Also tried to be clear about that "not going too deep".
@MisterFoxGuy I had never seen or heard of this until just a few years ago! My neice was watching it, I recognized the style, this should be good... Oh hello NO! I only watched like HALF of it. My sister-in-law was laughing at me for leaving the room!
@DaveyGandthe That final touch of Comic Sans is just beautiful! π
Congratulations on writing your way through the month!
I was reading last night about what the Carpathia's crew and travelers did to get to the Titanic and rescue people. I had never heard this before. This is the Titanic story I want somebody to make a movie about!

@DBC If Marco Rubio needs things to tweet about, he could tell my Marine husband to his face that woke = weak. He'd have a whole story to tweet later, and not a bit of violence in it. Just plenty of education.
Bard with a ukulele. Friend of Lake Monster. 93% stardust. Autistic. Fabulously weird.
