My choir is performing this in a few days on a concert that will benefit the homeless living in the inner city.
It was first written for the victims of the 2004 Tsunami in Indonesia, originally a vocal duet and now a popular choral arrangement.
Its beauty is in its simplicity and pure emotion.

Thinking about all of our friends in Italy right now. I know of no better piece of music to pay tribute; their "unofficial" national anthem.

If you are not familiar with the choral music of Elaine Hagenburg, you owe it to yourself to listen. I just helped out at a choral festival where this absolutely stunning work was performed.

The music world has lost another giant. Joseph Shabalala has passed.
Another concert today. This is a beautiful acoustic for a chamber choir, a pleasure to sing in.

I don't know how I missed this. Peter Serkin passed a few days ago.

Got into my car and the radio came on, and it was the SoTU. I said out loud, "aww HELL no" and hit the channel seek button.
This immediately came on. I cranked it and smiled. It couldn't have been more appropriate.
Concert night. Come to me, my pretty.
I may just be accompanying student orchestras for this one, but any opportunity to play this magnificent instrument is worth it.

Many of you know this amazing song. Until this week, I never heard this stripped-down, raw performance. Two masters at work.
