Normally, I'm an emotional eater. Food makes me feel good and pushes away all kinds of anxiety, depression, and more.

But last night and today, I have no appetite. The thought of food makes me feel ill.

It certainly won't hurt me to eat very little for a couple of days, and it's kind of fascinating. But it's like my body feels this deeply, in a different way than my usual personal struggles.

Dallas County results (not fully counted, but I don't expect major changes):
57% of registered voters voted.
Trump got 38%
Harris got 60%

Being a blue dot in a red state was like being in an oasis. Not fully safe, but a bit protected. Now, though, I'm sure Abbot and Trump will make it treacherous to be in places like this. They'll make it harder for municipalities to provide more protections than the state.

Also, this state has a lot of people, most of whom (more than 2/3) live in small towns.

And even if they fuck the economy up royally, they will *benefit* from the opportunities to consolidate power. As things break, they can buy them up.

The media loves the chaos that surrounds Trump. So they promote him, even if they're ostensibly critical. And they are uncritical.

Yes.
We need a Democratic party that is progressive, and has clear plans for change. And we need them to focus on state and local elections, to build a stronger base, and develop more candidates.
