Project Gutenberg's Plant Lore, Legends, and Lyrics, by Richard Folkard. "Myths, Traditions, Superstitions, and Folk-Lore of the Plant Kingdom."
Found while cleaning out my bookmarks, and decided to share. Has a comparison of various world trees across cultures, plants in the bible, plants used by fairies, devils, and witches, the doctrine of signatures, floral emblems of Shakespeare, the language of flowers, mummies, and more.

The best part of waking up at dawn for a doctor's appointment wasn't the receptionist telling me that I had the date wrong and it was two months away, it was when I pulled out the card I wrote it on to correct it (in front of her) and I found out I had indeed written it correctly.

Good morning everyone. I hate to sound like a sales representative this morning, but CS is only 60% funded for the month of March and tomorrow is the end of March. If you can support this fine platform, please do. I think we are all realizing that CS is miles above Twitter. Please support if you can. I do.

The nation trying to traverse the stages of grief but getting sent back to stage one before we can even start to move to stage two is fucking everything up.

We can’t get to a point of making clear decisions when our collective head is swimming with grief.

Seems like it’s part of the goal.

Keep restarting us in denial, keep us from getting to angry.

But I’m seeing we’re adapting to long term trauma, and are getting to anger anyway.

maybe?

Lol at this ad for a carnivorous plant shop (predatoryplants.com).

If you've had a hard, crappy day/week/month/year/life and need something to restore your faith in humanity, pull up YouTube and search for "Good Samaritan". There are many videos about people who have come to the aid of others.
Unfortunately, no kitties.

Yaaay, my problematic brother in law is here, but this time, so is Joe, so now HE gets to deal with him :).

Flashing back to the last time The Sims 2 was still new to me, and my first sim died of old age, it was Mortimer Goth, I cried.

Playing The Sims 2 for the first time in years, it's actually been so long that I loaded it expecting to find Gunther Goth, I had completely forgotten the mysterious disappearance of Bella Goth. HOW? How could I forget this?! Anyway, it's suddenly dawning on me, is her career as a spy in Sims 4 supposed to be an explanation for her mysterious behavior? Perhaps her amnesia in TS3 was a mind wipe by aliens protecting their secrets or even her own agency!

Morning thought:

Life isn't a game. It isn't being played to win money, amass items, score points or beat the opposition. It doesn't end with you getting a medal or being on a pedestal. Nor is the point to win applause and get a beautiful eulogy. You can live in entire obscurity and be forgotten by everybody and still have a worthwhile life.

But at the same time, life isn't just about eat, work, sleep, eat, work, sleep, day after day until you die. That's pointless.

Activism comes in many forms, and so many of you are unwitting activists. Keep being awesome. 💜
