Finally took my samples to a dude who was interested in seeing them for a consignment deal, and when he saw the scarf that was Venus flytrap digestive glands, his jaw hit the floor, so that's encouraging. I knew I'd find a target market there. I'm thinking that and flea markets is where my designs will sell. Now I just have to figure out where to get them printed in bulk and work out pricing :).

I stopped drawing a couple of decades ago, up until about 2 years ago. My eyes have gone bad and my hands stiff, and I always feel like I'm playing catch up, trying to get to the skill levels that I was at before. I just got a nice magnifying glass and embossing tools, and am practicing using them to make crisp highlights. Have been feeling frustrated with the page, so I decided to dig out a sketchbook from about a year and a half ago. Now I feel better.

ginger harvest, wove them into the bird's cages. They can dry there and become nutritious shred toys. Put a pinch of chickweed near each to entice them to explore (they LOVE chickweed, just like chickens). Now the room is ginger grass scented :). Bonus shot of Sunny eyeing the new green stuff with cautious curiosity. The worms will get the shreds.

The veggie powder ("fairy dust" for the kiddo's food) is actually rather tasty. It now has carrots, green beans, peas, and beets. I tried some, it's lightly sweet, just beety enough to cover the pea flavor, without being too beety. A good start.

Part of why I'm doing this is my daughter's immune system seems to be suffering from her picky habits, so I did my first indoor ginger harvest :). I put the rhizomes with the largest root systems back in. I might try a little orange peel next.

I have a picky child and dog that I cook for (not Lacy in the background, she loves everything) so I'm doing the old trick of cooking, dehydrating, and making powders of veggies to stir into sauces, cookies, ice cream, hide in a pb&j, whatever. This is a pound of carrots.

Joe is cleaning out the shed, he found the rock painting books I painted Fred with. I have four of these books. Time to start looking for suitable rocks.

Even better. I'm itching to pull out my wallet. These babies will look great under my blacklight wall hanging of two skeletons making out.

Today Amazon recommended to me a twist on the reborn baby dolls that I was not aware existed.

I have so many pics of this flower (my first pitcher plant flower, from a purple pitcher plant) that I thought I knew what my favorite pic was. I'm not even sure I've seen this pic before, just found it looking for art reference photos. I just had to stop and show it off.

A pack of Pomeranians is called a fluffle. They attack at bedtime, when you try to go sleepy. They wear you down with blanket wrestling, and then finish you off with nuggles.

My samples came :). They look better than I thought they would, the last bag I got from them wasn't nearly this good, and I didn't expect the scarf (flytrap digestive glands recolored) to be this vivid. Got a bit of a Tom Cruise smile on the mask, but that's okay it's not the final product. This is just to do a little research, wearing and swinging by dispensaries. The one on the corner already said he's interested in seeing samples. Now I need to find who I really want to use for bulk printing.

Sunny and Sky have done their first molt, so it's a little easier to guess at gender (cere color, band of flesh on their beak). Looks like Sky is a hen, no real surprise her cere was always iffy. Hard to tell in lutino birds (yellow) but it looks like that's lavender with a blue undertone, so that's at least one male and one female. Breeding will be a thing. Next year, when they're mature enough to be good parents.

Also, I love how they look against the purple wall, those colors just pop.

My first ever carrot harvest is for the birds :). I clip the tops to offer them for fresh greens sometimes, this is the first baby carrot they get. Hoping they will like these more than the larger ones, which they don't touch. Got a mixed color packet to see what colors might tempt them, this will be the first of many for these spoiled wee beasties. Grown in a kitchen window with supplemental lighting.

Pixie is out of quarantine, the flock is united and I officially have a bird room. This is good because I can control their light to prevent cranky breeding behavior and egg laying (at least for the first year). This is bad because I'm used to a cage being in whatever room I'm in, but now I can only visit my birds for 8 hours. I want in there!!! Grr.

Final offering for my little showing off of my treasures, some rutilated amethyst, a polished carnelian, and Fred, who I painted from instructions in a book roughly 26 years ago. He likes you too.

Labradorite is fun to show to people who aren't familiar with stones. Looks like a boring greenish agate type stone until you turn it just right, then their eyes pop open when the light hits just right. Heard folklore once that it was bits of petrified aurora borealis falling from the sky. Sounds about right.

Also some Moldavite, from a comet that hit the earth and therefore holds cosmic power. It is often fake and made with glass, but I know mine is real 'cause I'm totally enlightened.
